Mike, reviewing those photos of the "ship building"... I must admit: "A neat shop must be the sign of something!!!!" Beautiful place to work, friend.

The nice thing is the wife has her barn and I have my shop.. No lady stuff allowed or there would be no room to work I still wish it was one stall bigger.

        New Boat

Boat looks really nice Mike....Ed Karelsen and myself are going to be building a new Tohatsu D boat this fall and winter using composite cockpit sides and bottom, and hopefully popping molds of the sponsons from my present D boat...I am aiming for a 110lb hull fully rigged, putting me around 40lbs underweight...meaning I can ad lead where needed. The Tohatsu D ride seems to be much more touchy in terms of center of balance...When I designed my present boat I used the lightest wood I could find, and yet I was still 20lbs heavy out of the box, and wrecking the thing last year at Kitsap made things worse by adding another 10lbs of weight. Ugh. Anyway, when the project gets going after Yelm (hopefully) I will post pics. And, I will have the molds from both sponsons if anybody needs them. David

I think it would be cool to take pics as we go...this will be my first time being involved with the construction of a boat using something other then wood...Should be pretty interesting. Oh yah...my old boat will not be for sale....will be keeping it as a backup. Dave

                Alan's C Mod

                Mike
Alan just called to say they finished 3rd today at Centrailia in C Mod. The finally found a good prop. They did this 140 pounds overweight so with your new boat they should fly.

Speaking of flying Alan's son did a 360 in D Mod and never dumped it. They tried going an 1/8" higher then they ever ran before. He got out in heat two and finished I believe 5th overall.

David, here is the latest progress. I hope they can keep it on the water.. A little more sanding and shaping, coat the inside with epoxy and install the decking. Just got a new roll of Lexan for windshields so All I need is a skid fin from Steve. I stole the one off my C mod so that I could get it drilled up incase I start putting on the deck.

                    lastest project

                    Hi Mike
You might finish before I finish the D Sid Craft. On Monday I will driving to Charlotte, NC in the Z06 to have some fun at the track, our son will ge going in his Grand Sport that he ran a few months ago at VIR. He is working on his competition license.

I cannot get him interested in Boat Racing even though he was at his first race when only a few weeks old. We did get a 74 old former racer from Minn back into the sport yesterday. We sold him the Hemp and a Mark 58H? that I had in my collection.
