Dad is still progressing very slowly. He is opening his eyes on a regular basis. He is moving his left fingers and toes on command, but not much on his right side. He has a long way to go and I am sure it will take a long time to recover. We still don't know the extent of the damage, but it is evident that it will be a very long time before we know. He is still on the ventilator and may still be for a while. Only the lord knows right now when he will come out of this. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers and keep them coming. He needs all he can get right now.

      Jim

Dad just reached out for moms hand. He also moved a finger and his toes to the nurses command on his right side for the first time. He is keeping his eyes open more and starting to turn his head slightly. He is also trying to talk even though he can't due to the ventilator being in. More improvement. Thank you all and Lord!

Jim,on the long trip home from DePue to NY I had plenty of time to pray for Dan. Now that I am home I can find out how he is doing by these post. God is on our side and the prayers do help. Bob

Thanks for the updates Jim. We will keep Dan and entire family in our thoughts and prayers. Keep the Faith Dan! Your boat racing family needs to see you next year and the bears in Canada still need to fear your arrow!

Dad continues to improve. He told mom last night that he needed a change of clothes to go home. Dad still does not remember what happened, where, or why. He does know all of his family and friends, but his short term memory has a long way to go yet. They took the staples out of his incision today and tried sitting him in a chair. He couldn't sit long cause he said it hurt his back. Mom says he is still quite confused memory wise. Hopefully this will all come back with time. They did move him out of critical care today to intermediate, but he still can't walk or move his right arm a lot. Again we hope this will come back with time and as he heals. He is getting better day by day, but he still has a long way to go. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. The doctor said it was a miracle that he has progressed as he has from Saturday to today. We thank God for that and all of our friends and family. God has answered many prayers, but we still need many more. Thank you all!
