I will go up and talk to the folks to see if we can come up with a parking lot or something today. This is a town of about 300 and it is going to swell to 3000 or more this weekend. A lot of spots have been taken by spectators so the early bird caught the worm for this one. I don't think you can make reservation for the north shore camp ground but you can try thru the park service. It is only about 3 miles away.
Worst case we will put you up on our 10 acres but we are 25 miles from the race course.
Some info on the North Shore campground. They take no reservations so first come first serve. There are 13 sites and max length is 50 feet. They have water only and it is $6.00 a night. It is 3.5 mikes from Trout Creek and has a nice boat ramp. I would think if you can get there on at least early Thursday you should be able to get a spot. Ranger station phone number 406-827-3533
Hope this helps some. I am still going up to see if we can come up with some in town spots to help out.
Just got back from Trout Creek and the lakeside had a RV cancellation so move fast. They also only have 6 rooms left. The Trout Creek has two primitive sites they just made left. After that North Shore is the only option unless you go down the road a piece.
as long as there a nice launch for a big pig boats/super-e's...
Plenty of room for your little PuttPutt.
The rivers are starting to drop so we will see what we have in a couple days. Will have to do a river check Wednesday. Good excuse to get out the Vette.
out of curiosity, will the boat launch and parking lot attached remain open to the public while we're there, or are we able to close it down?? also is anyone staying down at the pits to watch over everything, if not i have a volunteer. kevin
