        Good Luck Region 10

Rich Fuschslin showed up with their 350 Runabout and Paul made a number of blistering test runs. Lonnie Morris was hard at work with his D Mod Runabout, and Steve Greaves and Mike Cruver did a lot of C Racing Runabout/Antique testing.

We finally got to see the Mystery Motor: Zach and Dwight Malhiot have sawed a half-busted 350 Konig on half and came up with a dandy little 2 cylinder 175cc engine. If all goes well, they'll be setting benchmark APBA kilo records for 175ccH and 175ccR. After tinkering with setup issues throughout the day, they finally hit on something that could get them out and back under their own power, all sounding pretty neat in the process.

As for Blacksheep Racing, it took about 3/4 of a day of futzing, but eventually Corey got a good test run with the 700cc Konny running well into 3 digits.

The weather today was total shirtsleeves and sunny. A great day to hang out at the lake and watch boats go fast. I've got pictures, but J Dub's computer has internet, mine does not, and without a USB cable or a memory stick I don't have an easy way to get them on this laptop. We'll see what we can try tomorrow.

Pizza is cooking in the oven of the Dubshack and I'm getting Hungry.

5 entries for this event; 3 APBA Record attempters and 2 Region 11 record entries. Sure wish there were more entries here...

Good luck guys. Corey/JW - keep the capsule on (or just above) the water. Zach - set the 175 hydro/runabout bar high. Wart - good luck at #gazillion record. Steve/Mike - keep trying to find that extra 1/2 to 1 miles an hour :-)
Lastly to all - have fun, but be safe.

        Wish a was there
        Jim

              Corey gets lucky

You see Mikey, that's the joy of travelling with Corey Deadbody: He's got a girl in every port. This is what he means when he says, "we're kind of a big deal."

BTW, the weather is PERFECT right now....boats running soon.

                    the latest

Tony Scarlatta made a couple of balks in a Super Stock and returned to the pits without a complete pass. Corey in 700cch made one pass at 102 thad to lift) and loaded up at the far end and is on a tow rope.

Zach Malhiot just sheared a pin or lower unit on his approach to scanner1.

Right now we have all patrol boats towing in dead wood.

Pass the SPF 33. This is sweet today!

                      Wart: UIM OSY400

This water was too good for Wart to pass up: in UIM Osy, pass1:71.149 mph. First time I ever saw Bob NOT balk on back to back runs! 2nd pass 68.970, for an average of 70.063. He's returning to pits now.

well, he could have fooled us

Wart has returned to the course without touching the beach.First pass 69.904 mph, 2nd pass 68.956 average of 69.430 mph.

Shortly after exiting the trap, Bob stopped. He may be out of fuel. The motor did not appear to be steaming.

                          Scarlatta up next.

Patrick, would you tell Dave Nichols that I said hello and saw him in one of your photos. He is with Lonnie Morris. I had tried to call him in Texas last night-no answer. Now I know why-he's out there playing. Have fun and thanks for the reports. Jack
