Stacy Runne this sounds like something right up your ally. Promote your little "brosin" or is it "couther". Whatever, you can make this happen.

Dylan could certainly be the poster boy for the repeal of this law! At the Asbury Park Press, Kirk Moore seems to be the writer most involved with boating. Perhaps Stacy could give him a call? I think he would be very interested. (I'd contact him myself, but I'm stuck 40 miles off the coast of Maryland for the next 3 weeks.)

Might be worth a try.... his e-mail: kmoore@app.com

            Hi Sherrie,

Before I write my letter, could you give me a little more info and a few key points on the issue. I am sure I am not the only one out here that wants to help, but not quite sure of the details other than it would end J racing in your region, we cant let that happen anywhere! I would love to write a letter in support of the kids. I'm sure we can send a bunch sent from Region 10.
I forwarded this link to David Williams of the H.A.R.M project to enlist his support.

Unfortunately, I don't have any new news on the J Bill. Keep sending those letters and I will continue to annoy them with phone calls. Sheri

Here is th article for the Asbury Park Press. Yet another great job by the Runnes in finally getting our J's racing in NJ! Thank You! It will probably be past just in time for Dylan to race "A."

We are going to keep working on it so our next generation of J driver's can race. (Jackson, Luke, Baby Lyons, Austin Jennings, Ryan Thompson and hopefully many more)

Fantastic article, Sheri!! We need to keep this legislative item on the "front burner", and when the author of this story contacted Sen. Kean, et al, for comment, it did just that.

After reading the story, we can only hope that Sen. Kean (who would make a great Governor, by the way) recognizes that there are more of his constituents with an interest in the outcome of this legislation then he may have realized.

                      Good Job!

PS: I think Lock Haven was about the best race I ever attended It can’t get any better than that, can it?

Those who have been to Camden, NC might argue that throwing a pig in a pit ALWAYS makes a boat race better. But I'm getting off topic.

Team Ritchie has a stake in changing the NJ law too. The article was great. And by using the phrase "in highly supervised situations" it means Kean gets it.

                          Good News

The J Bill is going to the Transportation Committee on Monday and Senator Kean is confident that it will be passed. So we are beginning a new journey with the J bill again. Hopefully this time we will get it through. Sheri

                            Hooray

We are on our way again. The J Bill passed through the Transportation Committee today. It is now approved to be heard by the full Senate. I think we have about five more steps to go before it hits Governor Corzines desk to be signed into law. So let's hope we get further this time then last. Sheri

That's some of the best news I've heard today. I'll keep my finger's crossed that it keeps going.
Thanks for all you have done to get this far with the bill, your son is a lucky young man to have a mom like you !
