geez!!!
I wasnt aware that the sport of boat racing was doing so well that we would want to turn entries away and talk down upon other's classes.
All these categories are in an umbrella under the American Power Boat Association--its is a tragedy that two nationals dates are intertwined and the communication line failed. This is why we have commissions to not only govern their category but to work together- but things happen I get that however the turn of attitude here aside from the nationals date and the mud flinging-is it necessary?
Those in Pro who do not care for OSY or kpro (for that matter)-if you take those numbers away from your category-thats huge-they are the two biggest classes. Then you have the animosity with the Service group and some not liking them either-- you trying to be your own worst enemy?
Complain about OSY-it has stock specs and runs on gas and oil--well guess what-so does K-Pro. That was not Doc Collin's intentions I do not believe (and yes I still have my c-3 Collin's racing team shirt from when I ran Jpro witha merc 10xs).OSY formally known as Novice 350 was the entry level class at one time and has been around for quite awhile. Why throw stones at your peers? I could wish the same upon you .
As for choosing a Nationals-well that bites but so be it and if Ashley wasnt the National Champion in Kpro and seeing what has been conveyed here not only by others but by a few pro commissioners as well--I would go to Stock. But Im going to take my stock driver to the Pro's once again.(i would prefer to call her my driver or outboard racer who cares what classes -but if you want to put a title or category to the name-well so be it)
Mr. Peffley--if it wasnt for multiple category/class racers- theres a good chance you wouldn't have a class to race locally-- let alone we wouldnt be able to have races without those mulitple entries.
Bruce-thank you for taking the time and spending the money to go to Raleigh for those exciting meetings. I appreciate your sarcasm so Im sure you will with mine. I have participated nationally on another categories commisson for 6 years ,APBA BOD, race/regatta mgt/new class committee/j commitee blah blah blah-I have a family member on the Pro commission/ another who is coucil member at large- puts all their time working at the meetings and spends all their time on the barge at the Pro Nationals-- so if my brother or sister or any family member wants to show some emotion and passion on the topic so be it-we too have put in our time--nice to see others stepping up to the plate and putting in some of their volunteer time and money too-- see you in Raleigh
