Yang Yilin, He Kexin and Jiang Yuyuan are their names. he Kexin is a heavy 56lbs.

My boat handles just fine at 80mph it never moves and always stays strapped to the bunk going to and from races.

Because Merc1 and RandY clearly do not understand the concept of an exaggeration to prove a point. I will be literal.

    1. All other classes use weight to level the playing field.
    2. costs of fiber boats are prohibitive to new members
    3. 1 boat design will rule the class
    4. wooden boats are being built as light a possible and it adds to the expense of the class (low durability)
    5. people over 170lb have no class they can race in mod runabout that is weight restricted.
    6. light boats ET better
    7. like equipment goes faster with a lighter driver.
    8. The rules was changed to allow smaller boats because no big runabouts were being built...to grow the class
    9. rule was voted on by very small driver pool looking to grow the class
    10. parity in competition promotes growth
    11. no weight limit creates a slippery slope (see pro analysis above)
    12. lighter drivers still will have the advantage of putting weight where they want not on the driver
    13. weight limit would stop the race to get the lightest equipment this is very cost prohibitive
    14. by building more durable boats(heavier) they could be used in other applications like marathons
    15. the speed gap between 500r and 750r is too great
    16. 750r and 850r are basically the same class going comparable speeds (Morris Light guy in 44ci and Luce in OMC heavier rig) check the lap times at the nationals
    17. Having weight limits hurts no individuals chance at winning a race
    18. blow overs and accidents in turns are reduced with heaver boats
    19. Not changing a rule because it helps you and not the class is selfish (more racers are good)
    20. We should change the rule because you are wrong and I am right.

I hope this analysis better than "I do not want to lift a boat and I hate change."

Sorry for the typos I have to go back to class....

I built my wood boat and bought a planner and an epoxy pump for 1260 give or take 5-10 for sandpaper. Full retail to have someone build the boat is close I agree but I can not build my own mold. Min weight is the issue. A fiber boat and my wood boat are very close in weight, but I suspect the fiber boat is going to last a lot longer. This is a good thing but it does not answer why to have no weight limit.

So will have to build 3 boats to your one fiber. I agree fiber is great but if I do not have the 3k plus I must build a wood boat. Very common issue. $ is a huge reason CSH is a great class.

        • In SST-60 we raised the weight several years ago 50 pounds. The rationale was simple, small guys that are fast will still be fast, big guys that are close will now be closer and it will level the playing field for all competitors.

The lighter guys did a little complaining but once they figured out where to distribute the 50 pounds they were back in the hunt with no handling issues. The big guys then started coming to the podium as well.

Give the big guys a chance and put a minimum weight on the class. Sounds like most of the little guys are close to that weight of 500 ish now. Us big guys want a place to run as well, could you see Brian or myself trying to get into a 200CCMR???? Why then is 750 or 850 being catered to the small guy? They have lots of other chances to race.

CSR just tried to lower the weight and it was defeated as it should have been.

Luce had a hole in his boat because he used too thin of material in the wrong spot.

it seem that this above quote is the gist of brians problem

an ad selling boat motor & driver 375 lbs (possible not probable as all drivers are different weight)

as for the 20 part list hardly any of it is literal
i am sure with a little more checking the above sentence can be proven ...

BTW i was on the phone with Bobby laws just now and he tells me the last nationals he won he weighed in at 610 lbs against guys weighing in at 460 and a lot less i am sure
and he was not the fastest boat on the water that time lol

if 490 was the weight he would still be 120 lbs over most would say that is considerable but this is not his first nationals win just 1 of many

the racing game is a move forward thing in my opinion and not a go back to old, move forward not back i say basically if you cant keep up you gotta run what ya brung ,or get a better job ,or maybe umm get in better shape

however i am done arguing with some 1 who Literally exaggerates rather than tell it like it is
ITS ALL IN THE VOTE NEXT YEAR

                  peace luv an boat Racing

                    • randy ave mentioned argueing in previos thread. no one should b 2 the point of arguein with anyone over differences of opinions. u all [a sothern way of sayin u's ] should b able 2 recognize a persons sincerity ni[backwards] a issue they have in our verry competative sport that we all [same as u all] do 4 fun. [not 2 earn a livin at]. i was told not 2 b afraid of the tuhotsu in dm. the rules 4 parrity sake were opened some more and it will only b a matter of time when most with mercs will b shown how a few who get things changed ,change the status quo. ave, man keeps referencin bob laws win at the nats 2 years previous and how his weight didn't stopp him from the 1st place victory. gotta say and the reaction from this statement is not intended 2 diminish b laws ability 2 race 2 his victory ,[ so hold back from your initial reaction 2 rip me a new one] if u wer in the field of competing dmr's at the time or had video of the heats in dmr that were run it is possible [here it comes] the calls on the starts may have aided in the win. ouch,,ouch. got my flacvest on, u alls,go 4 it. in closing gotta also say kudo's 2 brian 4 his humorous and sincere way of attempting 2 express his thoughts on subject of wates. yes i no my spellin also needs fixin but my addin and minusin has taken up most of my time. now back 2 the initial ? how is the revolution boat comin along?

                            • sorry guys
the term argue was a bad choice of words on my part!

it seems proffessor caffaerelli thought we were debating..

when in fact it was and is merely a disscussion.

the real issue here is not who wins as Brian has stated on # 20

it is in fact minuim weight or no minuim weight for 750 Mr

500 and 750 speeds are not the issue here!!

neither is what pros do, we dont run pro !!

blow overs lolol any 1 seen any blow overs due to boat speeds ??
i heard about 1 due to milling in front of the clock attempting to get on plane ,and i heard about lil mason a few years ago..

now as i stated before it does not matter to me weights or not!!
but i know it does to some!

Brian has some good points , and i think in a round about sort of way we both relayed the same concerns in different terms !!

the problem is we need facts not exaggerations to make our determination!!

                              exageration is distorting the truth!!
i deal in truth to myself and to others ...
i do not have much respect for one who cannot be honest with me or himself!!

only real thing here is to be fair to all big, tall, medium or short, heavy or light drivers etc and i feel we should possibly consider 450 to 470 as a minuim, (we are not stockers)
so 535 to me is out

this will be different from the old days and allow somewhat of a compromise between heavy and light drivers light guys will have to add and heavys will have to lose or be content!!

the light boats is a concern to light may be weak so now we can safely add a few extra stringers or ribs etc......

                              Regards to all

                              Randy

                              23-H

P.S. so how much is the cost of this new el cohete err what ever ya call it rig any way ??
