I didn't even race this year at the Nationals, but went up to watch. It was a spectacular show of speed and driving. I was very impressed with teh Nationals this year and even was able to meet some new people. I brought a buddy along from Tennessee who never really heard of hydroplane racing and he was blown away. I stay away from the political aspects of the whole race, so this is just a thank you at what I was able to see. Very impressive ya'll....I am very glad that I went and was again, a great Nationals all around. I agree with waht Joe said, keep the positives in the fore front. Awesome job!
Daren,i'llcertainlly be there or some boat race , as it is i'm sorta stuck in the Dudes area( Lososki) don't ya' know just can't get away But i await future invites. You did good for a lefty. E=mercguy]Richard, maybe you should have attended the Stock Nat's in Dayton..............300+ entrees..........[/QUOTE]
I have a question For Kevin Ladd or if someone knows the answer. I see where Kevin competed at the Stock Nationals last weekend placing well in BSH & CSH. I also see that he competed in SST 45 at St. Louis. Just curious how he accomplished that feat on the same weekend, unless of course there are 2 Kevin Ladd's from Michigan. And, by the way, Congratulations Kevin for your finishes at Dayton.
What the heck you supposse answer mite' be?
Paul, obviously you are Pro oriented. I have no problem wid' dat 'cept for the fact that it ain't nothing but 1960s all over again.
I watched a mod race in LaGrange Mo awhile ago , it was every bit as excitinge as any pro race i 've seen lately.
Noise was normal also.

The Ladds pulled out of Dayton late Saturday and drove all night to go to St. Louis.

Richard,
I am willing to bet that if you put on a race and offered your beverages of choice in dem dar Ozark Mountains, we'd all show up. Might even forget the botes.

Gents,
I propose that for Nationals events like Dayton or Top o'Michigan that race organizers do what we did years ago....... get an automotive gasoline distributor to donate the appropriate fuel for the race. Yes, I know it was years ago but I remember the days when the Mobil or Texaco truck was parked in the pits at the Marathon Nationals in Trenton. MI giving each registered entrant 10 gallons of gas and a decal to put on his boat !
I think the solution for Mods is to legislate the use of 100 Low Lead AvGas. It is federally standardized across the country and every racer east of the Mississippi lives within 20 miles of an airport ! Mike Marshall Raceboat61-S
nice idea but they are backing out of most sponsorships i guess they feel it would mess up thier record breaking bottom lines
