There will be a launching fee charged at Salt Springs.
When you stop at the store to pay for camping, etc., you will be asked how many boats you will launch each day, the fee is $5 per boat per day. There is no charge for boats on your trailer that will not actually be raced.
The EBBC has tried to negotiate this fee with the new owner, but to no avail.

We have always been charged a use fee. From George to Debbie. They do need to run a Business. $5.00/boat is very reasonable. however, are there any other fees?
What park, does not have fee. Oroville does, we pay up front and do not collect from the Racers.Last edited by bill boyes; 06-12-2013, 12:45 PM.bill b

reasonable?
Come on Bill, what next, they gonna start charging us to get our feet wet, while launching? Business is Business is correct, but, oh hell, forget it, Boat racing in America is not supposed to be a financial challenge to its participants, and the so called "Business Men" making money! I race for fun and something to do, not to make "People Money"

There are fees
To be fair, we do have some race sites where we charge a "launch" or "trailer" fee:
-Silver Lake Eatonville (where Montana Mike has raced before) is one such site. SOA rents the entire park from the resort owners, then recuperates some of that rental fee by charging our own for camping and a trailer parking fee.
-Lake Lawrence West (where SOA runs its fall Lk Lawrence Records Regatta) is the same deal. We rent the park from the Lk Lawrence Community Club, then charge our members a trailer fee to help recoup the park rental.
-Cullaby Lake & Lake Lytle in Oregon both have park launching or day-use fees we have to pay at those sites.
Everybody has overhead; we all just have different ways of getting around it.
What flummoxes me is how I see a lot of Midwest races with a $30-$35 entry fee. We have strong turnouts at our races (usually anywhere from 80-100 entries per race day), we charge a sliding scale entry fee of 1st Class-$50 2nd Class-$35-3rd Class and beyond- $25; a youth fee for drivers under 18 at 1st class $25-2nd class $15-3rd class and beyond $15; and we usually do only a little better than breaking even.
How do clubs get by with a $30 entry fee and not lose their shirts in the process?
