For all that wanted to know what the "Rhino" was....

and I thought I add one from Napolean Dynomite:

      Typo

Before Donnie, Matt, or Pat correct my 'Napolean' quote, it should have read:

"Girls only want boyfriends who have skills"

Also, sorry for the quality of the "Rhino" picture. You'll have to click on it to see it.

        New FER

I am posting a few pics for a friend who is currently building an FER. The boat is coming out exactly as drawn and planned. I can't wait to see the finished product.

I started off building this boat to look like the FER, but then I thought it needed a window.

              Arltralite DMH001

              I love it!

It's so fast Ralph couldn't get a picture of it in the race.

                    Yet another new boat

Ironically enough this is for a class using the oldest engines in racing. Jay Walls will run this boat starting this spring in the Antique C Racing Hydro class. It tips the scales right at 220# rigged. At 11' 4" that isn't too shabby for a "wood" boat. Hopefully this one stays upright better than his old round nose Byers!

Thanks Joe. The finish is just the last coat of epoxy. Jay will have to sand and apply the finish as I don't mess with that, just the building. I do try to send them out the door as smooth as I can though. Eric VanOver ran his for two years in the epoxy and is just now doing the finish. They don't have leave the shop with a 36 grit finish!

                          80 Grit

I find 80 Grit works well to !! To make West smooth is a SOB in my experience.

Here are a couple more pics of my CSH. I hope to have the boat done by Constantine, but only time will tell. This is my first hydro I've built and the wood does not bend the same as a line on the computer so I've had to do some tweaking to the frames and such as I go along, ultimately slowing me down a little.

                              Joe...

Nice work! Are you intending to make the trip to Depue for the divisionals. It is fun tipping a few w/the fellas from the Buckeye State.

Round front? No forks? What are the pluses and minuses of this type of design?
