mike, if you're wearing a strap harness to the helmet, i always ran the rear strap tighter than the others, to encourage the helmet back. if not you may consider one, lots of research done with head restraints over the past several years, i know it saved my bacon in my last mishap. kevin

I have the system but the wife and I discussed that would be an option but did not think that would be very safe to tighten the back stap more than the rest.

If adjusted correctly, it can help hold the helmet up, and also limit the travel of the head in case of a mishap. In my opinion it is way safer to run with it adjusted this way, then to run without a helmet harness at all.

On second thought, maybe your helmet is too big? I would bet more people have improper fitting helmets than do. Just as a test take a small towel and put it over the top of your head under your helmet before you test next time. See if this helps, if it does, I'd say your helmet is too big.

I plan to spend the rest of the week getting the upgrades to the motor and boat set up complete. Many thanks to Dave Curtis, Lee Tietze, Dave M, Mike Sattler for a large part of the ideas along with others. It is great when boat racers help out there fellow racers just to keep the sport alive.

I do have a tach and will be moving it from last years boat to this one so I can give Craig some feed back. I just wish the mini tach had a memory cause I have been know to have a "Mad Cow" moment now and then.

Did just finish reworking the cooling system so if the pipe gets wet now it will be bad news. Shinny side down

I always thought you were smiling at me too, and you only had one tooth !

There was a racer in Pro in the old days that would come by the start finish line and raise his leg up in a victory celebration. (laydown rig) Anyone care to guess who it was ?

Just finished installing the new water pick up system. Had to remove the power head and drill and tap pipe fitting in the back of the tower. Now I can raise the motor another 1/2 inch even with the bottom. Also moved exit hoses from the pipe. Might add that the original water feed hole has to be plugged with this installation.

Now I have two new props coming from Craig D and we should be set. Second test session and first race in two weeks at Bank Lake Washington. Sure hope the weather inproves.

I hope this thread will help other folks if they are interest in the C mod class. I have been learning from the good folks on this site.

I am waiting for the epoxy to set up totally and then I will remove the staps and fair in some more epoxy with micro filler. I guess I should of taken a close up of the epoxy squeeze out! I have checked and double checked SOA's dates with ours and it is now a no go. To bad they moved Eatonville and Moses. We are bumming but maybe next year. I had to raise the steering wheel in order to get the cables to clear the deck.

It's going to be fun with a trailer this year!

I thought I was done but I guess I have a ways to go. Did you just use thick epoxy. How did you smooth it all up with out scratching the heck out of the alumn.. That looks really good. Will any kind of paint work with out breaking down the epoxy.

I notice it is colored a kind of red. Hummmm Mine will be a blue or yellow!!!
