Ed,
Do you really beleive the 302 will be obsolete in a "few" years with the introduction of the 402. It will be a long time before we use up all the parts on the 302, IF [U]they stop production.

Hay what is going on over there at the Runne Factory? I see you are using my soon to be new sponsor's E-mail. Matt are you spying on my team captain to try to gain an advantage. OK Racerchic3z keep those other teams from finding out how good a Cadilac feels on the race coarse. Tell dad I think he was a little hard on my main man Ryan. It's not fair to make fun that your going to the races. I wished I was getting to go to. I had a dream about that FEH ride last night. I can't wait to get that boat and do a little reworking to it to make the Runne Team proud. Hope you can get it to Atlanta for me. KEEP THE TEAM SECRETS IN THE SAFE!!!!! Mikemike ross

Obsolete
I'm sorry. Maybe I misunderstand the use of the term "obsolete" as it applies to outboard engines. I was told that one of the good reasons not to make the 13cu.in. OMC evenly competitive with the 15 cu.in. Merc was that we didn't know when the Merc would go out of production and become "obsolete." I guess the term "obsolete" does not mean the same thing when referring to a Yamato. Ed.14-H

25SSR Solutions???
Okay. Here's the latest idea I came up with while I was sleeping last night: What about adopting some small "tweak" to the Yamato 102s and 302s (we can disagree as to what that might be) and legalizing the modified 15 cu.in. Hot rod with a 1/2" height restriction; stock 20H Merc with a 0.0" height restriction and the modified (or stock) 25SS and OMC 22cu.in. and Yamato 80 engines with a 1-3/8" height restriction? Lets put more motors into the class and really work to keep all engines fairly equal. This would spread the particpation even greater over other manufactures of engines and add some further avenues for growth in the class.
Yes, this proposes to assimilate the B Mod Runabout class into the 25SSR class. There, I said it! Ed.14-H

25SSR Solutions-Add
Following further: instead of doing anything to the 102s and 302s, allowing the Hot Rods to run modified at the 1-3/8" restriction and the Mercurys to pull the restrictors. Ed.14-H
