Keep supporting the individuals/companies that are providing you with engines to race!!
Why can't we all just get along?!?

Think of it as old vs. new...

Also, I think the Bass gearcase is a HUGE improvement in design over the Quicksilver lower unit.

I run Pro but I did have a D-Stock at one time that my son drove (55-H - it was that long ago). But if I were to have a D-Stock today I wouldn't even consider a Mercury, I'd be on the Phone to Sid, placing an order for a Bass/Tohatsu. Why? It's a new modern engine.

You and some of your buddies might or might not be surprised as to how little I know about what you guys race.
Let me first say if ya clamp it on I consider you a peer.
That said this question has no read between the lines
hidden agends just would like to know if any engines raced buy you guys is still in production buy it's original MFG.
Pat
Reason being as if I decide to help anyone in stock or modified this season would like to know what engines are still being made

Race Motors
Hey Pat, The Tohatsu powerhead is currently in production but is not imported in to the US. The motor is carburated and only the EFI version is available in the states. All the powerhead parts are available at Tohatsu dealers. The tower and foot are made by Bass and are available. I am geting a new D stock Tohatsu this March. ( Bob Harrity is puting me in a new ride again this season) The 44xs Merc is Reproduced By Dave Scott in Canada. The powerhead parts are available from Mercury and Dave produces or provides the rest of the parts. Both motors are available and are something you can put on a boat and have ready to race in a day. Like The APBA J motor none are produced by their respsctive factories but are available because some dedicated people put the effort into their projects and make them available. With the supply of stock Yamatos available it looks like stock is on a good road, when the Sidewinder hits the water there will be about 10 classes with motors available.. Now if you need some one to help out I have a B mod project in the works that is suffering a shortage of cash !! and again Thanks for your support of My sons J class ride... Shawn

Thanks to all that replied.
My next question is this ...
What would be the difference between a DSH hull being built for a Merc compared to one being built for a Tohatsu? Would there even be a difference?
Thanks ............ RandyRandy Rapedius
