I was caught up in cut backs at my work too. I am an IT contractor, so they say that contractors go first, then staff, they were right.

I am walking on pins and needles at my job. HVAC our company has layed off more then half of the employees. Our venders are even laying off people. I am still hanging in but reduced ours to 30. In CT its getting worse by the DAY.

AVON has helped us get to races for the last couple of seasons. You set your own hours, you are your own boss. AVON offers great incentives and bonuses, and it is only $20 to sign up online. That pays for the kit, brochures, and shipping. One of the best parts about selling AVON is that NO INVENTORY IS NEEDED! AVON provides Online and personal training. I can answer any questions you may have. There are lots of men that are at the top with sales and recruits. If you don't want to persue this career, maybe the lovely woman in your life can help support boat racing, like I do for my husband. Nobody can lay me off because I own my own business. Not only do I provide people with their daily essentials (shampoo, soap, deodorant, body washes, etc), but I also help people pay their bills by showing them the AVON Opportunity. Watch the Opportunity video and get signed up at www.start.youravon.com and place patsyhebert in the reference box. I can help you succeed, even if you are at a distance. I will put you with your district. I will also be at the Winter Nat's signing people up. If you are interested, let me know.

My wife is a realtor, still selling homes, not as much though,. Land of Fruits and Loons real Estate was the most over valued, and is the fastest to be dumped. She started selling Arbonne Cosmeteticals and I thought she was nuts....After 7 months, she made district manager, part time, and now gets an $800 extra payment from her commissions to pay for her white, company Mercedes GL wagon.

I use the sunblock myself, being in landscape, and nothing makes my skin feel smoother.

Anyhow, klook back to the great depression. 4 things sold in volume. 2 were illegal, hookers and booze. The other, candy, such as Baby Ruth and M&M's, and cosmeticis. Cheap things that made people feel better about themselves.

And as Shebert said, sold in your spare time...No one calling last minute demanding to see houses. No one griping about the color of a a stone. Sell it, use it, run to the mailbox for the checks.

KT has signed up many of her friends, and is getting commission as well.

                  Economics

Money is made differently today than it was in past years. Oh you can still make some money the old way, but now good money is made via the internet. The young man that created Facebook is in his 20's and is a billionaire! His leverage was Networking.

I am with a group of businessmen who are expanding a global marketing and promotions company, LTD.

We are looking for a few key people right now. Relocation is not necessarily a must, depending on you location.

If you are open to looking, either part time or full time, send me a Private Message.

Good point. Hair keeps growing, even in a recession. LOL!

Yep. I kinda wondered about her price menu when she opened the salon since it seemed on the high side, but her clientele is mostly ****yankee imports who settled here in East BugSplat with buckets of cash. And of course those Big Hair southern girls

My job is kinda safe - Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting. The airport is so cheap (barely above minimum wage) there's little danger of someone younger, faster, and stronger taking a job away from this old geeze who just does it for the giggles. Course my personal best response time - dash from the terminal, gear up, in the truck, and at the scene slightly over a mile away and ready to squirt is under two minutes. The US Air ground nicknamed me "Flash".

We Live on Long Island extremly liberal New York.
They say our economy is one of the best right now???
WHY we we have no manufactyring,no industry so what drives our Economy---Socialism the highest paid workers are Police,Teachers, firemen, town officals, highway workers and other Goverment employees..This is what the extream left want and withthe new Goverment spending is what they will get so get a job in the goverment sector somewhere and for the imediate future you will be able to eat (maybe not race boats but that is decretionary spending left only for the CZARS) well where does this money come from to pay for the goverment workers who make 6 figures in New York well my 3000 sq ft home has over 10,000.00 yr property tax oh did I mention most of our business is work on schools. Yea I'll take the contracts but hate that they are not on private buildings UGGG

Now that the Socialists have vilified the corporate aircraft, my life sucks too! Politicians would like everyone to have the image of a cigar-smoking CEO jetting off to Vail in their head. That just isn't the case 95% of the time. Most of the trips I fly are groups of 3-8 people going to business meetings that would take two or three days if they used the airlines or drove. By using charter, passengers can have breakfast with their families, go to their meeting, and be home in time for dinner. It is just a much more efficient use of their time. Heck, in a lot of cases, we can actually beat the cost point of a multi-day trip using the airlines, a rental car, and hotels.

                              (Jumping off the soapbox)

I guess the main point here is that if anyone knows someone looking for a slightly used but experienced pilot, give me a shout.

Not sure how much longer we are going to be able to hang on where I work.
I work for a world wide aggregate and cement manufacturing company. They are shutting down mines and cement plants all over the world. Our plant and mine was shut down in December. Those of us that were spared were transferred to another mine/plant in the same county. Two weeks ago we had another "staff reduction". Unless cement/aggregate sales skyrocket pretty soon our facility will probably be moth balled as well.

We have lost a great deal in income and benefits but right now I am happy to still be employed. I don't think the job will be there too much longer but I will appreciate it while it lasts.
