Oh Really! Sounds like the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing!

    All,

The the last BOD meeting, we passed a new GSR that was designed to be a clarification--and nothing more. This new rule is attached.

It has since been pointed out that, because most inboard hydroplanes use 5 point belt systems, that we had inadvertently outlawed most of the
boats currently running in the inboard category.

There are other problems with the attached GSR that we did not foresee.

Because of this, the Board has agreed to rescind this rule--at least for the 2012 racing season.

    Cheers,

    Mark Wheeler
    APBA President

I can not find any news or announcement of this over at the APBA website. Can anyone point me to a link or reference?

          First, Mark, no offense intended.

Next, I believe this is the very root cause of a lot of unsatisfied customers in APBA. This very example caused a lot of emotion, and elicited a lot of negative energy towards boat racing in general. These GSR rules it seems are simply being passed without the correct research being done. A few articles from a sports magazine hardly qualifies. Next, you TRULY need to implement a risk vs. reward system for ALL rules. It needs to be a tiered approach. Back peddling is not the right way to conduct business, nor attract young and new blood. It shows a weakness nobody is willing to admit to.

Perhaps APBA needs to really stop and think about its real goal. And with that goal, what is the value attached ? It is obvious to many the approach taken for some time is not working towards a goal at all. Is there a goal ?

Dave... relax Dude! They're woikin on it fer crissakes. It's just some mowron tipped over the Crown Royal and they had to send one of the crew down to the liquor store, but in the process someone called for a 'breathalizer' check to be done on the convening members and they all flunked. So right now, the "goal" is to find enough sober souls to start over. But, hang in there, one of these days they'll be ready to rock.
In the meantime I hope the rest of the folks listening in here on HR are taking notes so they don't re-invent the wheel.
