Leave the AXS class alone. It is a stepping stone for many drivers. My daughter is doing well in the AXS class, she is not ready to go 100% into A this year or for the past 2 years that she has been running AXS. She is to big for J so that option is out. I do not support the theory of setting up lower and backing off of the throttle, that only gets you in trouble. You never know, she may get a start then have the faster more experienced boats come from behind which creates an issue if she with them when they got to the turn.
As for the older drivers racing in AXS, you all seem to be referring to George Stillwill without using his name. Time and time again he has raced with Becky ran side by side with her and came back to the pits letting me know what she did during the heat, both good and bad. He is a quality driver who actually pays attention to what he and the opther boats are doing.
Age isn't everything, if you place a limit on it then you are hurting the class. There may be future racers that dont want to race with the "veterans" and also don't want to be as fast so this class is perfect for them.
One more time and lastly AXS is one of the largest classes by number, leave it alone or risk losing members your choice...
