Just got off the phone with Jeff. This is unfortunately true. There is a tri-atholon the same weekend and the county did not realize this. This is a scheduling snafoo on the county, not Jeff or SCORC's fault. Hope people will still come. I included need to make work changes, plans, etc.

Is there a Race Central Hotel for the Winter Nationals, that is giving us a boat racers rate?

there is not any that i know of .But there are lot of motels with in ten miles that reasonable rates try best western hope to see you Dave

Dave, What you are saying is that no one from SCOA can make a few calls and block some rooms at a discount. Geez Well maybe I am just premature. Will wait till all return from the Annual meeting.I did work out a pretty good deal at the Holiday express in Oroville for the 2010 Nationals. However, lots of snow birds in Indio/Plam Springs this time of year

No Open Exhaust at Winter Nationals??

I was talking to a friend today and he mentioned that you couldn�t run open exhaust (i.e. DM and FE engines). Is this true?

As per Jeff Conant, Indio is strictly stocks.

Pipes are legal on the lake now! new park owners/management. Per jeff Conant.

MOD's- They will hold their 2011 winternatinal in Jesup, GA, date TBA. There reasoning for not being involved with stock in indio was a projected low boat count and never approved the location (Indio). They approved puddingstone (which was orginal site).

This winternational will now be only stocks. but mod's will be on the sanction for normal apba points.

couple of nice casinos out their not sure how far from the race nice to have one of those as a place for the racers where they can hang out have some fun and drinks and course do some gambling

Winter Nationals Race info

Host hotel will be the Royal Plaza Inn http://www.royalplazainn.com/ in Indio. All rooms include 2 beds. Extra roll away beds are available for a small cost. We have 25 blocked rooms available on a first come first serve basis. This being a Winter Nationals, I suggest people book ASAP. The racer cost is $79 a night (normally $99). It's about 9 miles from the lake. Sylvia is the lady that put this together for us. There is also a highly recommended/well known steak house Cactus Jacks ,and local sports bar that is within stumbling distance of the hotel.
