The park is under new management. There is going to be a 24hour jet ski race there a week or two after our event. Yes...with Light towers and all. I'm in for trying to do a night race!

Date Change??

Heard a rumor today that the dates got moved forward a week to 12-13??

Hopefully Jeff can chime in soon so people can plan accordingly with the date change if it is infact true.

NO Magoo..... Date is the same as always... March 5-6.... This is coming straight from Jeff Conant.. There is NO date change.... First weekend in March AS ALWAYS at Indio........

If this is for real, you have got to be kinding me! People have planned time off (including me). Plane tickets have been bought! This race is 1 MONTH away (feb is short) for god sakes and you want to change it?!!?!?!

I'll be in Detriot tomorrow and the i'm sure this will be discussed. I hope this in not true.

Jeff is on the plane on the way to Detroit & has asked me to post... YES this is true, it's not SCOA who has decided to change it, it is the county who has changed the race dates. So sorry for the inconvinience. Jeff did not make a comment because it was posted after he was at the airport, he probably still hasn't seen it on BRF, Ron's source is Bill Sandburg, he's the one that got the water.....Ron is emailing me right now & I will post what he says in a second......

Yesterday, January 24th I went to my 11:00 doctor's appointment that was on
January 25th. As I was leaving my doctor's office, Dave Bryan called and said
their were no camping sites at Indio for the weekend of March 2-3, 2011 BECAUSE
THERE WAS A TRIATHLON, AND 5,000 PEOPLE WOULD BE AT THE PARK...AND THE OVER FLOW
AREA was full!!!

So, I called Bill Sandburg who had arranged for the water and, today, January
25, the day of my doctor's appointed that lasted an hour and a half. Bill
called and told me he changed the date...

My first thought, ONE MONTH before a NATIONAL event the date is changed???
