There has to be some J's that will show up. Perfect vacation from school. This is smooth water and a safe course. Need three more for possible record run..This is fast water and you put it together with a good start and bang! you are in the record book. Doc Miller

Is there going to be a DSH class at winter nationals? Or should I stop thrashing?

Im sur ethere will be more DSH's here. The counts i have are just off of who I have heard from on here and personally. Not everyone owns a computer, or a way to say they are coming also... And if enough dont show up, you do have Special Event "40ci D" Hydro/Runabout to run in.

                        David L-6,

I have a couple of questions. What is the best way to get to Alex when you are coming I-20 east to west? The last time I got all messed up going south off of I-20.

I have been told that there is a camping area in the park with electric. Is this accurate?

Tim, I can't comment on the roadway from your direction but camping is allowed in the park where the pits are located. Electric outlets are on several poles but bring a couple long extention cords. The motor home folks gather around the service poles. I've camped in the pits there several times and found I needed two extensions. No shower but I know where you can get one but will have to escort you there. I won't hold your hand though. I just looked at a Louisiana map and it looks like route US 165 from Monroe down to Alex would be the best bet.Jack

                            Tim,

Take I-20 west to I-49 south in Shreveport. Should be plenty of signs alerting you to the I-49 exit. (I-49 ends at I-20 - it does not go north.).
Go south on I-49 to the MacArthur Drive exit at Alexandria. You exit I-49 to the right. Stay in left lane and take the left fork. That's HWY 165 / HWY 71 north. After you cross the river the lake is on your left.

See Jack's post about the camping.

                              Tim,

Jack may be right about this. I think that the guys from MS come down 165 from Monroe.....

                                travel from Monroe

                                Tim,
Just was in Alex last week and drove up to Monroe from there. 165 is the way to go, most of it is 4 lane, a few small towns, not many, but an easy drive.
