I believe that David Mitchell may bring his 250 and 350 hydro's.

      Outstanding!

      Kristi,
I really enjoy getting good news like that. I really had no idea how much work goes into putting on a race, and with the help I have had doing it
I could not imagine getting it done otherwise.
I hope everyone who attends has a great experience and wants to come
back every year, and this race becomes one of the best events on the East Coast.

      Thanks again,
      Dennis

Sorry to rain on the OSY parade

OSY-400 cannot be run nor any other class not on the Race Circular. The time to ask for specific classes to be added was before the sanction was approved, and CVRA is not incurring additional fees for late changes now. Sorry guys.

I called Dave and asked him about adding the class. He was unsure, if there was an issue about adding it as far as APBA was concerned, but did not have a problem with adding it.
          Wish we could accomodate everyone.
Thanks for being on top of things as usual.

Everyone should put a race together just ONCE!! You are absolutely correct and I never appreciated all the effort that goes into it until I started started doing it. Thank you and the race committee for you effort it will be a big pay off.

Someone better call Tom Cronk and make sure he gets the final answer. Its a long trip from Florida for nothing. Thats to bad he was going to bring 5 boats

It is okay Tom brings the OSY's to every race. He can still bring the 125H for BJ and he can help us since Chris can't make it

                  Adding OSY400

I wonder what the additional cost would really be given that no circulars were actually mailed. Wouldn't APBA just send out an e-mail with the revised classes? I have to believe that 8 OSY400 entries each day would pay for any additional costs. But I can also understand not wanting to add anymore clases.

Also, does anyone on the race committee know if e-mail circulars were sent to all Region 4,5 and 14 drivers?

                  Looking forward to the race.

The additional cost is $50 to add a class after the sanction is done. In fairness to Dennis and the gang they have a big schedule to run off unless they combine classes in stock/mod? adding classes makes it more lengthy and more difficult to get through.

If this is a great success than they can always tweek the classes next year.

                      E-mail of circulars

                      I requested e-mail circulars be sent to Regions 3, 4, 5, 9 and 14 (Southeast Divisionals cover Regions 4, 5, 9 and 14)

Reminder to all - if APBA Headquarters does not have a proper email address for you (you should have listed it on your 2006 membership form or notified HQ if your email has changed), then you will not receive email race circulars. Using email saved us approx. $350 in mailing fees to 5 regions for Stock/Mod/Pro/J Class

OSY-400 has hardly ever been run by true pro boats in Region 4, it has usually been run by CSH drivers getting another ride, thus it was decided in March not to include it due to the number of classes we already have to try and get through.

Amen to that!! I know from experience putting on a race is a daunting project. My hat is off to Dennis & John for this venture.

P.S. Why couldn't Tom and the Fla. guys run CSH instead of OSY-400?

They own 202Ds and run strictly OSY with the two rigs.

CHEERS! For any and race committees! Been there, done that, still have nightmares . . . kidding, or maybe not :-) The boat racers should make an effort to see that no one on the race committee goes hungry, thirsty, or has to carry a single item off the judges stand. They're volunteers, and without their help we'd be on the beach *talking* about the good ol' days when we actually raced!
