                    • Craig,
The picture of the Stone Age Racing Team is great. I saw that rig pull in to Whitney Point in the late 70's I think. It brings back some good memories of Region 2.
In that era Scott Reed was driving a Price Craft J runabout, I had my Hedlund J and the Sabin brothers and Nelsons ruled the J classes. Andrea Slacik was a top A pilot along with Tommy Marcell and Phil Reed. David Dewald was teaching class in 15SSR. The best BU battles were Mitch Meyer, Fred Nelson and Doug Reed.
C & D was all Forciers, Pemberton and the Stone Age gang.
Leigh taught boat re-building 101 and van dismantling on the beach. I was a kid in shock over that deal but it was cool. Did your Mom ever forgive him?
Some other Region 2 racers from the time frame of that picture were Sue Marcell J, Robby Cotton B, Eric Wolf D, Pat Boylan J, Greg Meyer J, Brent Backus was making his debut in J, The Begier family, Mang brothers, Skip and Bruce Hartman, Ken Delucia, Chris Heath, Tim Smith, Vince Hartman, The Curtis family, Frank Cicci of NASCAR fame, wow, that was a great time to be a J kid.
Things really heated up when the Canadians showed up with the Boulters, Boltons, McCradys, Bachands, Pettycombs, Abels, Deugos, Pakemans and the Carelton Place crew.
Thanks for stirring some great memories! Please tell your Dad we say hello.

                              • Fresh Snow at Wakefield...

Admittedly, these photos are not old (I just shot them two days ago while up at Big Powderhorn for a family ski trip), but my memories sure were. I hadn't seen the place since I raced there in 1984, and am looking forward to seeing it again in 2011.

The last shot is of my boot in the knee-deep snow outside the pavilion. Snow inside the pavilion was about 4-inches deep.

Hurry up, winter and be gone. We have racing to do!
