Thanks Rachel for the Storm Update!

Truely some exciting news. Had my white TEAM-USA t-shirt on the whole weekend. Very proud of the Team. A little USA old school kneeler paving the way to the TOP. Way too cool.

Can't wait for the real details and pics.

    Hurry Home!!

              Estonia - who?...what?

First, congratulations to Billy Allen, the US A-Team, and all that supported the team to get to the race. Arguably, one of the best drivers, and the required support the US outboard racing community has to offer was put forth on this competitive world stage. From the thread, and the notable 'Posters', I definitely get the team's accomplishment is held in the highest regard, acheiving Bronze in a field of drivers/teams/competitors that are respected and admired. From a NA perspective, it would be great to hear from Billy/Team about the lessons learned (eg: best practices) to win gold.

Without any intent to diminish the above accomplishment, I want to note that out of the top 10 finishers, 3 were Estonian(2nd, 4th, 8th). The Silver medal went to Rasmus Haugasmagi; surname was not provided in previous post.

The remarkable accomplishement here is that Estonia only has a population of 1.34 million people(0.4% of US at 310MM), and only gained it's independence from under USSR occupation in 1991, <20 years ago. Being honest, it is a gnat compared to other global economic titans/nations, and has a miniscule talent and financial pool from which to draw and put forward world-class competitors. Their accomplishment here is also a testament to dedicated hard work, focus, community support, and a world class competitive spirit.

Being a first generation CDN of Estonian nationality, having a competitive spirit, and having joined the North American o/b racing community, I felt compelled to take a minute to bring forward the Estonian accomplishment as well. And shamelessly, I point this out with pride to know that Estonia has put out racers, that act as bookends to Billy and the best of what the US racing community brought out in 2010. Something tells me the fire is already lit for 2011.

Again, congrats to US, let's all do it again in 2011, and may the best driver/team win!

              Cheers,
