Look fast or be fast?
I believe there is a huge difference between a racer and someone who just wants to look like a racer. Painting "Shelby stripes" on an Escort won't make it keep up with a GT500R. I have had 8 boats from the same builder since 1988 and each change that was made improved the handling and corner speed. In a package such as these small race boats most of the design is right there on the surface to see. They look like they do because each design element is functional and there's no place to hide it.
In the early 60's my D alky hydro (round nose 12'6" Baycraft) ran up front and was capable of about 74mph. In 2008 my DSH (11' pickle-fork B&H) runs 81+ on gasoline.
