The ODA has decided to invite both the 125cc hydro and the 175cc hydro classes to be a special event at our Mod Nationals. One class will run on Saturday and one on Sunday. Entry fee will be $25 per class. Tow $$ will be available to all teams that sign up and run. There will have to be a minimum of 6 boats per class show and sign up to run. Centrailia, IL is a premium race site that I think you guys and gals will all enjoy.

Very generous offer Kieth and I am sure appreciated by the new NBRA/USTS PRO
For those that don't have their calendar in front of them, this is the weekend after the USTS Nationals at DePue.
A good opportunity especially for those heading from DePue to have another race weekend. If they have any Mod equipment also an additional opportunity to run it.
I can say from personal experience this is a beautiful race site with good pit area, great camping and a nice ramp to put in from. Eileen and I attended/spectated last year after DePue and really enjoyed ourselves. Had very nice shade on a high bank and a great view of the races along with very good competition. The spectator area reminded me of Dayton with lots of shade.

Unless there has been a drastic change...........

.........all PRO classes up to and including 350 Hydro are run on either kneel down or lay down boats. Runabouts are not effected by the cockpit rule.
Enclosed cockpits are required on 500 and above.
I understand the new USTS PRO rules should be available shortly, perhaps at the USTS spring meeting this weekend in Chicago I think is the date. The USTS site may have this information.

It has also been a dream of mine to run a PRO rig. Hopefully one day! It's been far too long since I've enjoyed a good PRO show. (USTS race in Pineville, LA back in 2004) It'll be nice to see them in action in Centralia.
If for some reason only SOME show up and not enough for the "Special Event".. could we possibly run some of our C Mod. Hydros (who ever would be willing to run that is.) with the 125cc Hydro? They run fairly similar speeds and would ensure the people that have shown up still get some action during the show.
Just thought I would throw that idea out there. JUST IN CASE.
During an AOF race back in 2007, we combined the C Hydros and the 125cc Hydros. It was a fun show!John Mathews @ Mathews Racing L-390

Tim, I would love to give alcohol a try. Been thinking about it for over 20 years. Once the knees are finally done, I think the sit down hydros will be the only way to keep my habit going. (I know 125-175 are not capsule classes) Bryan Tharp. (May want to trade driving duties as I have acquired a new "E" runabout. Good stuff all around but have serious lack of runabout experience.)Last edited by propfxrO84; 02-27-2013, 08:39 PM.
