    That's a tough question Brad.
You really should consider doing 2.

The Nationals in McAlester Ok. Is going to be a great race...
    But, that isn't until Sept.,

so pick another one from Rockaway Mo.
Which is a great little town next to Branson Mo. Its a lttle resort community, and the race is right there in town,Fun short course.

then the Kansas race promises to be an all time race with lots of cool other stuff, and a straightaway records course in addition to the circle race, this will be one to be at...

They always do an awesome job in Illinois, can't go wrong with that.

Tough choices, but be sure to attend the Nationals in Oklahoma.

No height restrictions for any class as far as I know.
And remember. Whether it reads super stock or stock. It's all one class. For example. If you read "A super stock hydro legal motors and weight" and "a stock hydro legal motors and weight" it's all combined for the A Hydro class. Might sound like a weird mix. But the differences in each engines weights and whatnot. Make for a VERY competitive race. Any rig can win at any race. It's always a toss up. So bring your rigs to some of our races! You WILL have somewhere to fit with us. And an opportunity to take some prize money home.

        Dude, enough already.
I think everyone has gotten your point of view! If you don't like ethanol then so be it, don't support the races and do your own thing. But, keep the negativity to yourself or at the very least do not use a forum such as this. It is very likely that this sponsor is on here checking us out and right now mod/stock racing does not need the negative publicity. I'm sure we have all heard the saying "One bad apple ruins the bushel". We need to show this sponsor or any prospective sponsor that we are in deed worthy of their support whether it is financial or otherwise. It doesn't matter who the sponsor is, we as a group need to welcome them with open arms so that this sport can be better for all in the future.

I would also like to say a very big THANK YOU to Vernon for his efforts in getting this done!

Thanks Propdoc, he has been warned with a PM. I totally agree and we will take further steps if needed. He says he has got tons of pm's in agreement but I find that hard to believe. This is such a positive for the sport!

            Ok, look...
If this sponsor wasn't aware that there is a segment of their marketplace that has a negative view of their product, they wouldn't need the public relations to help turn negative perceptions around.

This a small model of their universe.

They know that there are a bunch of guys out there who aren't "simpatico" with their fuel...That's where we come in.

Interesting isn't it the number of positive stories that are coming to light about the fuels usage in marine engines...only because of a negative comment.

            That's how it works!

To tell you the truth, if it wasn't for this thread, I don't think I would have heard ANYTHING positive about ethanol blended fuel.

So, now, I am less inclined to believe every negative thing I hear about the fuel.

As far as I am concerned, they are already starting to see a return on their
            investment.

Works for my 2-cycle Ski boat engine

I have used about any pumped ethanol gas in my 1990 Merk 115 ski boat engine for years and years. Never a problem. Still running strong.

                NBRA, great decision.

I agree. I know Vernon and I am positive he did a thorough job explaining all to the new SPONSOR! Ahhh, "SPONSOR", what a great word! I don't care if we got a sponsor that big for whipped cream, we had better make it work conerning our races. Thank you Vernon! Ethanol is here to stay, and as a farmer that that is involved with growing the crops to make it, I sure hope so. The less oil we import the better.
Thank you again Vernon and all who made this happen!

                        Thanks !

I have never stopped using pump gas in my RACING outboards. If you are a racer, you know exactly what to do to compensate for the new fuels. NBRA has provided a platform to work with the new fuels in a ground breaking way... and to be honest and blunt, a SIMPLE way. They rasied the meter reading. I can tell you one thing though, try to cheat with additives and get caught... this group of racers has been around for a great many years and pretty much know every trick in the book. Many famliy dynastys choose to race here, with generations of experience behind them. You might fool a few, but believe me, you are not going to fool everyone.

Lets be honest here, using current pump gas with the corn grown additives (ethonol) is not a speed avantage that can be noticed for any gains amounting to a position on the race course. What it can do is eat up a few old gas lines and seals over time. let me ask this question, do you currently keep your fuel lines for ten years on your engines ? Maybe it is time to replace them anyways...... you are losing HP in seals that old too. It is common sense to change those things that help keep compression inside the engine where it belongs.

I say again, drop your gloves, and support boat racing. I don't give a crap what organization you belong to. This gig gives a crap about you as much as you do about it.

First as a NBRA member and long time boat racer - I want to say thanks to Vernon for the "GREAT" job. Also to Jeff Ruth for the work on Lucus oil that will bear fruit next year. This is a great forum to talk about the postive and or negative of any subject concerning the sport of boat racing. As long as one is respectful to others, then all opinions should have their place here. To say that a "warning" was given to Ricochet112 for giving his view and trying to back it up with propaganda really is wrong. I have seen many forums of discussion with APBA members that sometimes goes far enough to disrespect fellow racers and the sport with no "warning " that I have ever seen given to them. Last time I looked , this is America and again , as long as respect to others is not violated , then their opinion should be allowed. I happen to disagree with Ricochett112 , and see this as kick to jump start for our sport. We NEED to grow to survive and this is a great start. Again , my hat is off to you Vernon and To NBRA - a national organization that does not have it's head in the sand.

                            some folks need warning

                            OKNitro:

I completely agree with your previous post regards "censorship" and as long as the discourse is civil, difference of opinion backed up with factual information, and the poster conducts themselves in a reasonable manner, I too think an open forum should be open.

BUT, when opinions are given as fact from questionable sources like Wikipedia, and other opinions are given as fact from sources that have an obvious political agenda from one side of the political spectrum or the other, to suit the posters postion and bias, then I can see where a "warning" be in order. I have no knowledge what the operators of this site are talking about, but I do have previous experience debating this Ricochetti112 about a similar matter, and was on the receiving end of some real garbage because I called him out about just the type things I mention in the first paragraph.

If you would like to view the thread in question, access Boat Racing Facts thread "Here We Go Folks, E-15 Fuel", by Tomtall, started last fall. I think the following link still works, it did at one time. This will give you an idea of the mindset of the individual, and what happens when he is called out because I referenced the very sites and folks he was quoting to start with, in my discussion with him.

I thought I had been called about everything, but I was mistaken, and in addition he got the gender wrong. Take a look and make your own judgement. If nothing else it is amusing and might keep you occupied a while,

The link is as follows, and then follow the links he references to get an idea where his thoughts? are coming from.

                            http://boatracingfacts.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=11486

If the link is not working you can use the search feature either by the thread name or the author.

ADD: The site feature that prohibits "bad words" is evidently supposing that the phrase "showthread" right after the word forums and / is something other than what it is. The link does work, but if you have a problem with it just retype it with the correct word where the periods are.

                              Well done Vernon and NBRA!!

As for the folks who want to align themselves with Joan of Arc.... go right ahead.. light the torch. This little sprout for NBRA represents OUR tax dollars. It's simply subsidy-money (OUR money) which our po-lick-tishuns bent over for. So, if NBRA doesn't put the bucks to good use, some other more willing recipient will. Take the money and run with it.

In the meantime, think about how we got into this ethanol-subsidy situation. Yeah.... think about it you folks who are members of the Flat Earth Society. Because, you got us there. I realize that here on HR the vast majority, including my diminishing circle of friends, do not belong to that group of lemmings.

So, perhaps in the next go-round.... should we be sharp enough to recognize it before we are overtaken by events by the Flat Earth Fleet... we will rise up and slap the livincrap out of em.... don't terminate them... just send em to the ER.

                              Alex
