  • Well this past weekend my dad finally got to run his new CSR and it looked amazing. Its been 30 years since he has been in a runabout and about 24 years since he last raced. This weekend he will be making his comeback tour at Curwensville, Pa. Here is a pic of him out testing Springfeild lake last Sat.

      • My new 125ccH

This is the start of my new 125ccH. Thanks to Derek Gesler (sp??) for all of the help on getting me started on this new hydro. This is my first attempt at building a full scale hydro. Derek is probably getting tired of all of my building questions by now.

I hope to have this hydro completed by mid September. So that it can have it's madden voyage at Pleasant Prairie WI. If all go's well I plan to go to the worlds this fall with it.

                    Eric,

I believe I have boat with a similarly shaped cockpit in my basement. I am considering taking the basement boat up to Knoxville after the Worlds in order to see what we might come-up with for 2009.

P.S. I am having a great time hanging out with Pistol Pete, you come to DePue for a day or two and enjoy the cold Hamm's!!

                    • HI David,
The cockpit .....is the one thing that is very different from your boat. It's much safer!!! I should be racing the new Pugh boat at Mora Sweden in a few weeks. I'll post some photos after testing!! (It's still "Top Secret") I'm driving Rossi's Mostes this weekend at an O350 International Race and that should make a good comparison!!!

                      James

Ps...Eric....did you talk to the security department before posting? Oh....I forgot ....you're the chief of security!!!!!!!

Interesting, I made one of those in 2006, all one piece carbon/kevlar cockpit and put it in three boats, one of which won the 2007 350cc hydro nationals at Depue.

Amazing how much Gary and I think alike...

                          • Marc, I've not had the chance to see your new boats, but cockpits like yours and our new one will be much safer for unrestrained drivers when in collisions. The new one should surpass UIM requirements, making the laminated coamings look....rather agriculural.

We've been talking about doing this since I built my 125 boat in '02. For a one off, it didn't justify the extra work. Hopefully, a few will get built to make it worthwhile.

                            James,
How can you test in a few weeks if the plug has now only been started?

                            • Eric,
I must have been dreaming, someone would build a safe cockpit for laydown boats!!! I should have listened my to the therapist after the wreck!!!!!

Ps. I liked the agricultural referance.
