    Daren,

Those are the same ones I've been doing for quite a time now. The steps add quite a bit of strength and help unstick them when planing off and if they ever touch. I also do multiple bevels to make the boats more forgiving in the turns.

You probably can't see it in the background but your fin is in progress on the bench.

I guess it just looks deceiving from the pictures. It looks more like a "tunnel" or "relief" built into the bottom of the sponsons..........

Here is a couple shots of a Scottcraft DSH I am builiding for a driver in Michigan. Flipped over this morning. I left the cockpit sides nice and High - Just to be safe Ya Know -

                        • I like the way you dovetailed the Cockpit sides. If there a jig available to do that? JDS does the same thing.

                            Hi Bill,

You will laugh, but my Mom runs a daycare and she has the whole living room floor covered with this interlocking mats and it just so happens that the interlock is that of a puzzle joint. So I set the mat onto the plywood and scribe the lines in with the mat as the template and then rough cut with a dremel and finish with a coping saw and round file. It works great I cannot find a jig for doing full joints on the flat like we do in our boats.

                            Regards,

                            • Gotta use what is available, Would be nice to have a fixture and use a router like a dovetail jig.
