Ok, Who wants a DMR now? It is the class to race! 5 more months before 10-12 DMRs at Hillsdale MI. It is the IOA season opener!
George... Thank you for helping the class grow, but I think you should only build boats for people just getting into the sport. This idea of the fast getting faster is not good for me.

Lonnie, you are going to have a great looking rig there. Boy, is the DMR leading the pack in classy looking rigs or what? Way to go all. Of course I realize that all the classes have new names but I'm a little slow in adapting.Last edited by Jack Stotts; 01-01-2008, 06:49 AM.

[QUOTE=modhydro;93267]Thanks for the compliments guys. I used to restore antique boats professionally, so the woodwork comes from that and years of practice. It is amazing what a little quick work with a low angle block plane can do. I'd recommend anyone building buy one and put it to use. They are actually pretty darn cheap on e-bay.
Let's see what others have on the jigs or getting finished up. I've got to think that there must be more than these few happening.
Steve
I second that, in many cases an electric plane is overkill and can be trouble, so can a belt sander. I like to get a sand belt, make a block that fits in snug then tap a spacer in to tighten it up. Another thing is to get a large belt cut it at the seam, contact cement and staple it to a long straight block for fairing. The contact cement prevents the edges from curling up and tearing. This can also be done on a flexible backer for curved fairing. Nice work Steve.Team Tower
