Hey I am not the only one who uses the kitchen table to build boats on! My fastest boats were built using my mom's old kitchen table for the base of the jig.

Nice job on the boat too. Can't wait to see the finished product.

I built a couple of boats in the dining room once. At Thanksgiving we put a tablecloth over the upside-down jigged up boat and my family and I had Thanksgiving dinner in the room as it was intended. I have a very understanding family.

          • Dining Table Jigs

I love hearing about using the dining tables!!! My Dad (Randy Johnson) had a friend who was in hydro racing back in the early 60's. One night he and my Mom went over to visit, and his buddy had his brand new Marchetti laid out on the living room carpet waxing it! Gotta love that. (His wife was very understanding too)....

But, now I have a question for you guys that built your boats in the dining room. What did you do about all the sawdust?????

I had a tarp in the doorway and just simply sweep and vacuum.

It's the cheapest table/building jig ever. My wife was going to give it away when se got her new one. The thing is a sold butcher block table and it is very flat. It makes a great Jig.

                • new boat for this season

I won a contest last year from Sorensen Woodcraft in CRS. This boat was part of the contest. I have got to run it already this season to break it in and now I just painted it and am getting it ready for Whitney Point. Look foward to seeing

One year my wife and I lived in a duplex, no garage. Guess where I sanded, varnished and kept the boat,? (it was an ASH)

In the living room! We had an awesome coffee table! I should see if I can find the picture.

And, Yes, I am still married to the same woman. She is sweet.

                      • I built my boats on the pool table because it had a flat surface.
                        Whatever works.
