Today We were disqualified for only having 1 APBA decal on an AX hydro. Can anyone tell were to find the rule so we can comply tomorrow ? I looked in the J category rules and the general racing and safety rules with out finding it . Thanks Shawn

Seems to be a loop hole in the By-Laws:
"APBA.ORG may be displayed in place of, or in addition to, the official APBA logo."
So a little masking tape, and a Sharpie spelling out "APBA.ORG" on the tape and you should be good to go.

The catch is, there is no disqualification or any kind of punishment in the by-law if you don't have them! I'd complain. One of those strange things through the years. Does anyone know how many front cover pictures on Propeller have no APBA decal on them? A whole bunch!

How many new boats run with the number "X" for more than one race? How many of us have sold boats to a non-registered person without first removing the APBA registration number? Etc.
Probably 90% of the racing membership could be DQ'ed by strict enforcement of every rule, nuance, and subtlety on the books somewhere. Let's hope that reason will prevail in such matters.

Why do we look for ways to throw people out of racing than ways to keep them in? Bad A$$ that threw you out should be fired as any inspector or judge as they are on a power trip, A simple warnig of " For tomorrow you will..." would do. If it were a performance enhancer then yes throw em out! but a decal missing? Really?

Years ago when i first came back to APBA boat racing after 4 years in the army, 1957/58. My first race with a brand new 20H was inspected by Charlie Hornickle and found the exhaust holes were over sized ! Years later at an after race libation Charlie admitted to me he used a smaller size drill to check the exhaust holes, and apologized...

Fastjack would be at the Milton NH race. The officials for this race as listed on the APBA website are shown above. Some good people on the list, but too bad there is a lack of common sense there.

This is easy. The boat MUST have the APBA name or logo on each side of the subject boat. The surface MUST be vertical. In addition, APBA.ORG MAY be put on the subject boat. When I joined APBA they sent me an approved APBA decal. And, APBA sells them in different colors.....

This is a total BS rule. Do boats get inspected before a race? If so this should have been addressed at that time. Anything can happen to a boat wiping out this APBA logo. Are they that picky? The last thing we all want to here are "rules are rules". Some of these rules have caused may drivers to quit. Do you think any one watching cares if a APBA logo is on both sides of the boat. A simple, get it on both sides next time would have been enough. Sorry, but this is just my opinion.

Foolishness is everywhere Racers need to be helped not hurt. Bringing a racer into compliance does not mean throw him out. Fast jack should protest as the intent of decals is to make spectators aware of who APBA is. Tell this to some spectators and it would not be looked on favorably. Just another chicken**** reason membership in Boat racing goes the wrong way. Part of the reason other organizations get formed.
