I understand that 302SSH is not the main focus of this thread. A question was asked about motors, and I was responding. I think there is another thread on class still going.....BTW...the current push to get the Sidewinder out of 20 could have an effect on 302ssh.....don't need to go into specifics here. Dave

Hey Paul..........being the kind of guy that calls it like it is, let me ask you this. Do you own a Sidewinder or race one over there at Pittman Racing??

Well, here at Team Stillwill we have never re-jetted a carb on the 15ci or 20ci Sidewinder. The engines run fine just as they come from the FACTORY. My daughter runs George's backup 15ci engine and runs out front with no issues. The 20ci BSH version also runs like a clock in BSH on George's Ghoastrider boat. My opinion is that maybe some of the folks you are using for 'data' tinker to much???

Seems that the updated manifold kits Sidewinder came out with earlier this year took care of most of the issues.
I can't speak to the 'issues' Runabout folks may be having but here in Hydro world things are fine. If you would have been at Tabor City you would have seen a 10 boat field of ASH's. Half were Sidewinders including Collin Smith and Callie Shensky from your area. They along with the other ASH Sidewinders ran great and were swapping positions all weekend.

The Sidewinders were all about the same speed.....kinda what Stock Outboarding should be about, in my opinion.

Ok............sorry to get off topic. Let's get back to bashing Big Don and Pavlick.

That Pavlick guy is a jerk.

          • Here we go. Say anything about the SW that can be construed as negative and you get personally attacked as anti-SW. Do they work better now at the end of 2013 than they did before?...yes. Is that good? Yes, it is both good for SW and the sport. Have they had a history of reliability and consistency?....no! That is what the Yamato and Mercury have going for them and SW needs to focus on that objective. No doubt, they are running better, but there are many examples of folks over the past couple of years that spent good money on SW's and they did not work right. Now I sound like I am anti-SW again, which I am not, nor am I going to post all the names of people that have had these issues because it is not good for SW or the sport. Unfortunately, that is the truth. My point, focus on making the motors reliable for everyone. You buy it, you can count on racing with it. Maybe now SW is finally there. Only next year will be able to verify this for a fact.

            • Big Don, you challenged others to speak up. I did, are you feelling any relief that they are going after me.....and my whole team. Now, could you guys pick on Don or Pavlick for awhile? They started it all!

              • Paul I was not challenging anyone , just saying why people don't post.

                Thanks for posting though.

Yes, get the focus back on the the two evil guys in Region 7. I should be more specific, becuase Ed is from region 7 also. Focus on Mike & Don. Maybe a little at Ed too.

Just conversating with you and giving the other side of the coin observation. This Thread got lost pages ago but at least it is keeping everyone's blood circulating!

Maybe Erin will be sporting a Sidewinder soon and joining Abby, Val and Callie in kicking butt on the good ole boys!!!

                  • Four thousand y302's are produced each year verified by Mike Ward out of England. Just a general FYI.

I voted to remove the SW from 20, and if the motor is removed from 20 using this twisted method of membership-vote, I'm celebrating by buying SW 20 to run in non-existent-in-the-northwest B class.

BSH in region 10 is going to blow region 6 and 7's mind..... you think Sidor wants you racing BSH too...hahaha.

                        • I can't stand it!

I don't really understand the moaning and groaning. This sort of reminds me of when we canned the KG-4 for the OMC or the 30H for the Y-102.

We have been screaming for a new motor. Now we have it and it can't find a home. It's too fast, it might be too fast, it doesn't run, it runs too good, it works great on a hydro but not a runabout, we can't get them, we can get them etc. etc.

Mr. Bluesky, kill the thread and let's waste our time on something constructive. Grow up boys!

I'll go to my room now Farmer John.

                          • Lets be clear: 20ssH had readily available motors. No one was screaming for a new motor for this class.

Tim..........no doubt this thread has gone sideways several times. The point here is that 20ssh has a 'available' motor and hence no need for another 'available' motor in the class.

That's the point of the Petition.........

I was down at Lake Oconee last weekend in your neck of the woods in Georgia. That is a cool part of the country!!
