    • Why does the SW20 have to be in the B class?
Mind you, the motor has a displacement 25% larger than the competition.
      Whats wrong the with 15/B-SW?

I love boat racing and want to help make a brighter future.
New engines is the Life blood of Stock outboard racing. Not out of production 30+ year old motors with out new replacement parts.
          Thoughts?

          Lee,

Put your money where your keyboard is and buy one NOW. I have a standing offer that anyone who buys a 20S Sidewinder and agrees to race it actively in Region 10 will get a FREE BSH Hull from me (has most hardware). This boat is not a slouch, and qualified for the BSH finals at Whitney Point last year with our 20S on it. You can get your 25SSR later....we need to get these going out west NOW.

I believe in promoting boat racing. What are the rest of you doing?

The B class was always a 20ci class till the 15ss Hotrod was put into that class. I dont have an issue with it being in the B class and I own 4 hotrods but I did buy one just because I dont have to root around for parts, its fast , it starts easy and it runs like a clock

                • It's got its own class...BSR and BSH.

It is CLEARLY faster than the 15ci Hot Rod.

It only takes 3 for a race...4 for points. That's the class that needs an injection of life with a NEW engine. It needs to exist west of the Mississippi. Get r dun!

But its safe to say, since 1991, the B class has been a 15ci class.
So where is the 15/B SW? discontinued?

                      Lee,

The point of my post was not to take a "cheap shot" at you or at anyone else, and if it was perceived that way, then I apologize.

I understand that talk is not cheap for you. I know how much money it costs to field a C runabout as fast or faster than ours, which you have clearly done in a very short time.

My point is that maybe we should ALL be spending maybe a little less time on our computers, and concentrating more on ways to grow classes...as they say, "thinking globally and acting locally."

                      Peace,

Lee...........at the Atlanta National Meeting the sole goal of Sidewinder at the time was to build a B Class engine to revive the DEAD class. It took some time but the Sidewinder 20ci is a beast. I have raced it as a BSH and raced against it for a couple years now.

It is time to go racing. The TOP Hot Rods in BSH and BSR are still 'relavant' but the Sidewinder in BSH will run a smooth 63-65 mph on the course. The perfect speed for our BSH class (in my opinion).

And i know for a fact the TOP SHELF Hot Rod BSH's will also run 64-65mph on the racecourse.

To me class speed, not so called Parity between engines is the key. We (SORC) need to hold our CLASS speeds in line. Seems like ASH speed on the course should be in the 56-59mph range. BSH speeds should be in the 64-65mph range on the course.

Seems like Sidewinder in conjunction with the SORC have nailed it.......

Lee...........sounds good. AS you may have gathered, Stillwill and i basically team up. Val and I have driven his various rigs on and off for a few years and we often test together and he does all of our Merc's.

Look forward to helping ya out as best i can.
