I got back in after 40 year this year and the fact that I could order a 302 and run in two classes was a great motivator for getting back in. I favor 20SW in 25SSH. I would buy one then.
Am just getting competitive, took 3 or 4 races to get there with a lot of testing. Have to admit, having raced in the late sixties when classes were designed around cubic inches, it was a little confusing to understand the classes and how engines got in each now. Having said that, I here for a few years, looking forward to bumping boats with the best of them in CSH and 20SSH. Who knows maybe in 25SSH or may be DSH in the future. 103C

Well Gabe.....as you can see, nothing has changed from the 60's and 70's. People still can't look beyond what is in their trailer box motor wise. Nothing will change until we change the way we do things. Very sad in my opinion. 20 years from now when the EPA has shut down all 2 cycle imports from overseas we are gonna go.....what did we do wrong. What on earth did we do wrong.. Think about it boys and girls...think about it.

That could be why now we just unpack by throwing everything on the ground when we get to the race.

Just my opinion, Wouldn't dad and Nintendo kid feel better about a turn key electric start, bullet proof 4 stroke and a carbon fiber hull rather than a old tech oil burner and a pile of toothpicks ???

Also, having ONE AVAILABLE NEW (reconditioned) motor in a class provides clear direction. Brad, who cares 20 years later why the 302 Yamato was put in 20ssh?? Hell, it took on a life of it's own so to speak and has helped make 20ssh the biggest class in APBA and the easiest way for newer folks to get into boat racing or RETURN to boat racing like the 103-C. Gone are the days of 'one motor one class' but we can try at least as a Commission to provide a Motor Of Choice in our classes to provide a clear path moving forward!!
Tabor City, here we come!!

I am a factor Of This thread going off topic, for that I apologize, my vote also would be to remove the SW From 20ssh, if it can't go into the B class than please don't stick it into 25ssh, let that class die all by itself, trying to run 25mercs with that SW would never work on many levels also why have another class to run and yes it is boring to watch 12 classes run all around the same speed, you can't tell the difference in a couple miles an hour from shore, correct ?Last edited by 25xs seeya!; 10-24-2013, 06:40 AM.
