Participation is up all across Region 10, half a dozen 125's, elims in Yamato classes almost evey event. more than a few "C" drivers shopping "D" boats, 350 showing steady growth and C-Novice is a monster living up to all the hype.
Motorcycle sales are up 40% post recession, I would bet outboard boat racing will soon do the same.

if you want to race against the "best" than Moses Lake next year should be on your schedule..............as it should for everyone else...

PS: I had stepped away from talking with you over the last couple years, due to your negativity towards APBA, SOA, etc, but lightened up, as it seemed you were starting to understand, but your recent comments have made me go back to my feelings towards you again..........negativity.......

BTW, boat racing is not dieing.................in fact, SOA (APBA) is alive and growing!!!!!!!

Mike: If you notice, I deleted Dana's last two sentences about racing against the best when I quoted him. That was not what I was talking about.

                Hiding

John if you are saying I am hiding behind a keyboard you are wrong I will talk to anybody face to face. I was at the first MOD APBA Nat's in 72 when it came over from NOA. I was a commissioner for years so I have seen it all. How many commissioners are in 500 Hydro they should not had a vote I really don't care what they do

Well we will keep next year open just cause I may want to meet new folks but you have to wonder what could go wrong to make it three years in a row.. I know you cant control mother nature but you can try to control bad decisions..

Our race this weekend will decide our future for next year.. Hopefully we can get a couple motors to work this weekend and maybe the new boat

Mike, come to Lawerence or Soap Lake, between Daren, Jason, Jim, Don, Cheny, Eric, JW or myself your boat will run.
When you get to Lawerence turn right to get to the "Mod Pits"

I would think the MHRA Folks would take exception to your statement.....the Grass Lake National Championship event was one of the best organized and professionally run events that i can remember. If you would have been there you would have seen it first hand!!

Mike, lets' not through the baby out with the bath water my friend!

Matt I was basically referring to the Pickle fork fiasco and then what just happened with Mods this year.. Even with the event being put on in a great fashion it will always be remembered for the dark cloud of that event. Its just human nature to remember the disasters and not the great parts

                          let's move one.........

enough at throwing jabs at others and especially other races and sites....it is not needed and just childish.......................each and every race can have their ups and downs...........its how we move on and deal with it in the future...............saying one would not attend another race because of what has happened in the past is just plain crap...........we all just wanna go racing and thats what we should do............you can bet that the "rescheduled Mod Nats" will be a hot topic at the 2014 National meeting in Reno..........if you have some constructive ideas and thoughts, show up and voice them.............otherwise its all BS..........

                              That wasn't what I saw.

As someone who did attend, I can tell you that in an unexpected way, the disaster that you mention actually WAS one of the great parts.

My cell phone rang at 4:15 Friday AM. It was Bob Koschka who called to tell me that the pits had flooded and they were moving our trailer, "and you might want to come down here." I woke up Kyle, we made the 40 minute trip to Whitney Point from Johnson City and arrived in the dark. At first all I could see were flashlights and headlights, looking like dozens of fireflies in the pitch black night. As we drove closer, I saw people....hundreds of people....grabbing trailers, grabbing boats on dollies, grabbing up half-destroyed EZ-Ups, lawn chairs, and whatever else was not nailed down, and moving it to higher ground. Kyle hopped out of the truck and said, "you wait here, I'll find our trailer." Someone had already moved it. Our stuff was safe, and everybody else's was too. With the exception of the aforementioned pop-up canopies, there was no damage or loss of equipment.

It didn't matter what letter your boat had on it, or what your trailer license plate said. It didn't matter whether you were a stock, a mod, a J racer, or anything else. For those several hours, we were all one, working together on the same goal...to get everybody's equipment out and safe.

I truly saw the BEST of boat racing at Whitney Point, in a series of the most unlikely situations ever. So please, don't say for a minute that there was a dark cloud on this event. In that cold, dark rainy night, there was a spirit that was undefeatable. It's just that simple.

                                Well said

Could not agree more. One thing I do not get...why was there so much damage to EZ ups? At least 20 of them were sitting out in the pit area all broken up. Just curious. Dave
