A long time ago drag racing only had one one national and was held each year at indy now theres all kinds of nationals spring, summer, fall and winter keeps the tv net works busy anyway but kind of lost the prestigue of winning one national. At one time to run the stock nationals you had to place first second or third in a regular sanctioned APBA event to even run the nationals. This was back in the fiftys and early sixtys dont know when they caned that rule. Yup Im old well almost.........lol....will be 60 in April

Another Thought for National Meeting

The only problem I see in the regional qualifying is that all the regions don’t have the same amount of participants. BSR for instance has a large amount of competitors in the Midwest, but they can't be found out west or down south. If there was a way we could figure it out proportionally so the regions with the most competitors would be given more spots at the national event. Similar to the way each region is given a certain amount of Commissioners. But it also provides the opportunity for those who can travel around the country to compete against racers from all over. I personally think the nationals are the best week of the year cause you see all the people you only see once a year.

one thing that is great about this type of dialog is it lets you have time to think about what some one says before you reply lol. keep up the good work people!
if you bracket then is it fair to load the nationals baised on number of competitors in a region? i would say no if you are trying to represent all regions equally. i feel if you bracket then you need to do just that. but it would not represent the individual racers fairly. if that is the goal, then i dont feel that bracketing is the way to go. just what is the goal?
lol
