John, We didnt elimanate any classes in the RBTs, we just planed on combining them with weight breaks, to build the classes, if there are enough to run a stong class by them selves then we will, but this doesnt mean 3 boats, the Brbt has not been run for the last 8 years, and cmod rbt , up till last year hasnt been run for 4 years, both these classes, have acutaully died and should have been out. but to build these classes back up. we voted to combine them

Runabout
We are seeing some interesting numbers who want to run a runabout. The C mod runabout is the fastest growing class in APBA. The new design, with a deep cockpit and great turning ability has played a part in reserecting the c runabout as well as the D runabout. We have increased the motors that are legal in the C mod. with different wt. requirements. It's almost like the old days when we had a runabout free for all. The Kincaid(Tunk's) race, we should call it 'Randys race', is unusual in the entries in the B mod runabout class. Normally, we do not have any entries in that class. We have a chance to see if runabouts can make a come back, but my thought is that we will end up running it this one time. We will have larger numbers in the C mod. runabout.

How many CMR's show up at local races in APBA lately ? Hopefully that number will do the same in NBRA. I don't beleive the DR class is growing that much, especially in stock APBA. The numbers I see posted on this site indicate it is all but gone. I know it is a big class in NBRA becasue of the Tohotsu engines.Dave Mason

C Mod Runabout
I do not know how many C mod runabout showed at Tabor City, but last spring there were 10. It looks like we will bring out multiple times National Championship B runabout of Rick's to run in the A and B runabout. We will use a stock yamato 80. This rig has won the NBRA A runabout natl. champ. Braxton will drive. For the first time, that I can remember, we will bring more runabouts than hydros to a race..Can I say 'Runabout Fever'. 'Watch them bounce!' John , Cody will not run his runabout in the A, but Braxton will run A and step up in the B. Looking for more pit help!

It will be interesting to see the 80 m in CR, it will have good top end but I had one on a hydro and it did not have near the punch as the 102 or 202. Lighter weight will make some difference. The 12 out of 14 +~ mod 25 H drivers that voted to combine were tired of running the same outfit twice every race. I will propose to vote it back in next year and never be part of tech class structure changes again.

NBRA first race
Progressing well with the season preparation and in need of a set of Kevlar's, jacket and helmet for my youngest son to run the white L-7 with a Merc 44XS. If anyone has a set to borrow or sell for the first race at Alex let me know. He is 6' and about 245 lbs.
Thanks,
Alan
