NBRA in Alexandria, Louisiana (At Tunk's!) May 4th-5th, 2013 ROLL CALL
Class count looks good! Alexandria is always a great place to race and recreate (Eat at Tunks and possibly have a beer or two or three). Looking forward to a great weekend. I know Randy and his team are focused on putting on a great event. I for one am going to have fun. Hope everyone else is leaning toward the same objective. I'll bet they are. Good friends, great racing, and good eats are hard to beat. Good on you LA folks and thank you! Jack
I thought we made these "C" runabouts. I see in the boat count 4 "A" runabouts...I am confuzzed.
They are still B Runabouts. They are just "LEGAL" C Runabouts as well.
Yup. So far I've heard from 4 total A Runabouts that plan to race. (1 with a Stock Y80, 2 with Restricted Y102s, and 1 with a Hot Rod A.) Even talked with a potential AR/BR racer who may be coming down from up north. Nothing official though. It's nice to see our little class runabouts coming back to life.
Joe John is confused over the B runabout class and it has been posted that the Y-80 is both a BR and a CR. I don't know and just wondering because the org did a way with the 25 MH because one could run the same rig in CMH. If what is being stated is true, isn't that the same situation? Just asking! I don't have my 2013 rule book yet. Jack

yes, Jack. that is what has happened. I have not seen an A OR B runabout at any race. so I understood our rule change to incorporate the mod 80 into the C class so they would have a place to run. Apparently, our discussion should have been at the Nat. meeting to eliminate A and B runabout to avoid this. So what we have now is A runabout and B runabout and they are both LEGAL C runabouts with a 60-100lb weight advantage instead of a step up. If this goes the way I THINK it will, my 2 C runabouts will stay home. I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt...the first race is less than 2 weeks away...we will see what happens.

Which is exactly why I voted no to this rule on the ballot. Was a good idea, just not the right way to go about it. Hope we don't eliminate these classes for the one in the future seeing as many of the guys who run A and B aren't going to run C Runabout with under powered equipment even with any sort of weight advantage. Doesn't matter if they don't make the schedule often. They will run when enough people show up. It isn't hurting anything by being there until then because we do in fact still have guys who run these classes. Just hard to get them all at the same race. This one seems good for it though. Looking forward to it!
