Nice job, George. It looks like it is coming along well. Its always fun to see how other people do things because with much of this, there is no right or wrong way, just some ways are easier and some more difficult. You've done a few things in a different order than I would but the end result looks great. There's a pic of our latest CSH/OSY.

      Sam,

Nice point you made, there are so many different ways to accomplish the same end result. I see a lot of negative comments on here about the way folks do things, when in the end, who cares, as long as it works for them, and they had fun. I might even be guilty of being negative once in a while... whoops.

So remember, no right or wrong way, do it your way and be proud !! Share shortcuts and tricks of the trade, it goes a long long ways.

Thanks Sam when Ron got the kit it was second hand from someone else and all I got to work with was the combings which were cut out and the lift lines drawn on the plus the deck stringer was attached, the ribs were together and the air traps cut out and that was about it so didnt have any drawings of the boat so had to do things as I did on other boats but as you said the end result worked out. Plus had alot of pictures of your boats to go by to. Will help Ron get it set up when I take it down to him in Feb.

          Quick Tip

Hey, wanted to share this, I usually try to build a boat really light and take some steps to lighten it up. One way is to cut holes in the ribs, the plywood pieces attached to the cross frames. I did this to a 2 cyl boat, I mean really went to town on that, thinkign man this is gonna be good, I saved all the pieces I drilled out with a hole saw, and weighed them. All told I saved 7.5 ounces on the weight. Now there might be like 2 or 3 ounces lost from dust in drilling, but still...... I did not think the savings was worth the effort it took to cut them out. less than a pound !!

Just a tip for those considering that. I know all the little things add up too.

New 2005 F500 boat for James Aderholdt to use in the 500cc world championship series. Start with just the tub and build the boat around it. Sorry for the darkness, musta had the flash off( or is it stealth )

Did you mean, start with a cockpit, and then add the wings????

Nice boat. Will this be the first Pugh in the F500 Series?

                  Mike,

Yes James is getting the first boat for f500. Sometimes inorder to get an advantage on the competition, you have to use different equipment. Hopefully the Pugh track record will give him that boost. i hope that he will be able to come here to test before shipping the boat to the Netherlands.

The thought of a boat the approx size of a SST45 doing a 100mph is pretty exciting.

Another stealthy hydro that doesnt want to have its picture taken. This one is a BMH. I had to try really hard to get this one over 100lbs. Next boat to build is a FER.
