Public Comment is being sought by the USACE on the races at Lake Norfork, on Pigeon Creek. So far incoming comments have been light.

    To comment please e-mail mark.j.case@uasce.army.mil
Comment period is through May 30th.

Race is scheduled for July 19 through 21 and we will be closing all public accesses to Pigeon Creek and charging a per vehicle admission fee, thus the Corp. must seek public comments legally.

Also that hwy. 5 Go Kart track is no longer in operation, though they may be reopening one out on 62/412 at The Zone for summer it appears. They are performing good maintenance on that facility now.

Any large cabins for rent nearby? Looks like Kampen Racing will have a large group with us. Looks like a dozen or more.

There are not any cabins in this area of the lake. The closest accommodations are the Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn. There are plenty of motels in town (Mountain Home) and the closest resorts are in the Cranfield area and Teal Point.

                  Jack,

Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn are closest and newest. Otherwise MH is full of options like Comfort Inn, Ramada Inn, Days Inn and more. We are a tourism town so accommodations are plenty including some resorts. There are no resorts out at this area of the lake or active campgrounds. Hampton has an indoor pool as does Ramada.

Plenty of food options close to all motels.

Hope to have a good crowd and a safe race.

Year after that or the next Nationals that was there (Mod only) I was racing in CMH and had a good chance at a win. Sheared a pin going into the first turn in my elimination heat. Sat rest of weekend. But had fun with the local gals.

Mom and Randy Terril won 2 man runabout each year there I believe. I do know they won many 2 man runabout races. Oops, I mean 2 person.

Many more stories, but will leave it at that.
                    Yes Dave,
We were thrown out and told dont ever come back. Stopped us all right in the middle and would not even let us finish let alone use the rest of our tickets.

                    Fun Times!

There will be porta units on site. There is no restroom except one at the end of the park and it is limited.

                            old hydroplane

The Chamber is looking for a old hydroplane to stage in front of their office. this will give the town people some idea of the type of boat race we will have. If can get a old boat to their office it would help advertise the race.
