Dayton when it was run years back at the beginning of the season would get bad weather. But as for a race site.... one of the best. Plus as a combined Nationals would draw alot of boats

The city is doing a major construction project on the access road and bridge leading to the lake. The pits are full of constrction vehicles and materials last I knew. I spoke to the mayor of the city and the time slot for the construction to be finished is not until 2014 if memory serves. The NBRA was hosting it's opening race of the season (early spring) this year and had to cancel because of this construction. It is an awesome venue that is for sure. I can't wait for the NBRA to host its next event there.

AOF has a race planned there for October over Columbus Day week end. So far they say yes, but we will see. Will let all know if it is a go or a no.
I am planning on going over and looking the situation over myself.

Corrected??? Maybe. Maybe not. The construction may not finish until December 31, 2013 and that would rule out a 2013 boat race.

Let's all hope that the construction is finished early in 2013 so the lake can be used for racing. There isn't better place anywhere in the world for a boat race that I am aware of.

I'm older than dirt! I've been around this since my diaper days.

I mentioned Pineville since we had a couple of winter nationals there in recent years. I was really impressed with the course and Tunk's.

There are no problems with megaphones, good pitting, awesome water
and really fun people in the area. You got to love the Herbert clan.

                      Hinton Wva

I hear it is a great place, someone needs to work it. Does IOA want to put it on? Is there a club east of Hinton that could put it on?

Email from Jeff Brewster this evening stated that any club who wishes to put on the 2013 nationals is being invited to make a proposal to APBA pres Mark Wheeler. This must be done by Sept. 17th. The stipulation is that it must be a combined nationals of SO/MO/J. This was agreed upon by all 3 category chairman's. After the 17th all bids will be posted to the respective commissions and a vote will take place for which site will host.

I personally will be reprenting SOA and Moses Lake to be moved up from 14 to 13. We already have the park, city, and host hotel behind us if we can move up years. Here's to the democratic process.
