Hinton is a great spot to race..............as long as it is forth of July weekend or earlier it should work out!! With the Nationals being in late July a mid- July event at Hinton might hurt attendence. We also have to not be in conflict with Region 6 since Hinton is a very short drive for many of those folks and i would think we could draw from there. Region 1 and 2 will not support this race based on distance so conflicting with them is not such a big deal but Region 6 and of course Region 5 is important to help us get boats!

Hinton ia a very historic spot for both the Stock and PRO Division. There have been many classic events there!!!!

I believe the intention is to run SO/MOD/PRO just like we did in Wilson, N.C. if the interest is there.

What about a stock/mod race the weekend of Depue? Could catch a lot of guys on the way to Grass Lake.

Matt, the Fourth of July weekend is out. The weekend prior is out due to a fishing tournament. I can and will try for 4 July, 2013 if that is what you want. I will check with the other regions you mentioned.

Apparantly the weekend you are thinking about is the Region 6 Divisionals as posted by Rick Wagner in a previous post..................my BIGGEST concern as a sponsoring club member is ATTENDENCE. We all need to put our heads together and see if the date works and we can draw enough enteries to make a good show and not lose money.

We all love Hinton, let's try to make it work out in 2012 and into the following years to come!!

I can think of one person who likes that race in Dayton.............his name starts with Ed Hearn!

Not sure what we can do for 2012 but in the future 4th of July seems to be a good weekend for a race!

what about the wilson weekend of this year

what about the weekend wilson was this year. any numbers as for attendence at wilson this year? i noticed there were no 350 mod hydros listed in the standings. maybe attendence will be better at hinton than wilson.

Being an OLD RACER by most standards here now, I can tell you that if you are smart whether stock-Mod- Or Pro driver you should ALL get together , make a good show at Hinton. Great race course , sheltered and the most beautiful scenery around. I can remember now the sound of Randy and Hassel Johnsons 44 Quincy firing up early to make a test on the lake, it would echo for miles, and the sound of the ole CORNPOPPER B stock hydros going out there.With the loss of racing spots now ,to be able to add this point back on would seem to be a win win for everyone who races....The people in that area always supported the races in many ways and this could lead to a Nationals again .
I realize you cannot please about the dates but thats the way it is, and there sure doesnot seem to be anyone really adding races on the schedule.

Would be good to do this race as a Divisionals if possible. Long trip for Reg. 5 but would draw a ton of boats from midwest. A good showing will go a long way in making a good impression on out return to the most talked about race site we don't race at.
