Being a toddler back then i recall stories of that Hinton race. Malcom Harden blew over a C Alky Hydro on the back streach in front of the pits that almost hit the clouds!!

I believe 1977 was also the year the town 'paved' the pits and widened the entire road in and out of the place! That really made it a first class facility!!

I recall many epic battles there with Maloof, Stone, Hooten, Armstrong, Glasses etc etc in DSH. Hinton is truly one of the best sites in the country.

Pipestem and Bluestone cabins are also cool places to stay. Deer and wild turkeys in the front yards and of course the Mountain Lions are a site to behold around the trash cans!! YIKES!!

        Proposed Date Change

Because of the scheduling conflict with the region six divisonals we have changed the proposed race date to 2 & 3 June, 2012. The Hinton representatives were very understanding of our dilemma and worked hard for us to get this race date changed.

I want to thank Dana Holt for providing us an awesome promotional video and also for helping us de-conflict this race date......teamwork at its best!

Please "Private Message" me if you have any comments or concerns regarding this proposal; lessons learned or helpful tips are always welcome.

          Hey Bill,

I have to give my dad a shout-out, as it was he and pop (with my mom and Gigi) that all did the heavy lifting for the 1976 and the 1977 nationals at Hinton. Great days and great racing on Lake Bluestone. We should all be excited to return. You would have been alternate ref to Charlotte Queen.
