How do you melt a steel adapter in a aluminum head?
The Adapter do need to be cutoff as they are to long. I have seen a burnt piston with the adapter not cut off.

I just switched to the 14mm NGK B10ES plugs and wanted to confirm that the recommended gap of .028 is a good number for use in a 302.

          Thx,

The Champion C55cx(294) and the C53cx(293) work real well in the 18 mm head with the steel 14mm adaptors.
You have 2 choices buy an 14 mm head or use adaptors.

LOL!!! The NGK wharehouse is out of those and will probably not stock any more. I bought a box of 10 two years ago and have 6 un used 2 with 3 races on them and 2 with 5 min run times on them. I may be selling them after Memorial Day weekend. I have a very solid 80 that should sell that weekend and if the buyer dose not want to buy them i'll post the ad. There are steel inserts available of course. Be very aware of Champion plugs. I've been selling parts for over 20 years and those plugs have not been any good since the late 60's........
