It wants to dump air from under the sponsons real bad when i try to setup for the turns! Im running a cast dmod header into a couple diff. pipes we fabbed up over the winter! We have good punch and speed its just tough gettn it to settle down for the turns! DustinDUSTIN HAMILTON TOP GUN RACING 11-Z

Before you go cutting on the traps, make sure the bottom is true and the traps are straight! Seen guys want to burn their boats before cause they handled like chit. After a few minor adjustments, they can handle great if one knows what to do. Also, make sure your turn fin is not out of wack and pulling the boat around. This can create the same effect you are describing.Sattler Racing R-15

Not That My
Not that you will count my opinion, but everything mentioned is good to check before you trim traps. Turn fin not aligned correctly can casue some serious issues.
What you described sounds like the boat does not want to dump air at the turn. It is lifting to much lift and you can't settle it to set for the corner ?
Is this is the case, are you moving forward to set the fin ? if so and nothing happens, are you dumping the pipe and moving forward ? if neither of these work, then yes, you need to make some set up adjustments first. If you can't get the boat to ride with the fin being just out of the water you may need to trim some traps. Do you know where to trim ? How much trap is left at the very rear of the boat, measured from the actual bottom to the edge of the trap ? Usually around 1/4" on that size boat. It could be your trap is to tall at the sponson back too. I would try set ups before trimming, and test. Find the sweet spot in the boat, where it wants to ride at with your body in what position. Stretched out all the way to the back is not always the best position in some boats.
Turn Fin on all my boats regardless of class are no more than 4.5" below the sponson bottom. Seems to be the sweet spot for them on the style.
Good luck, hope you get it figured out.Dave Mason

Stick it

Seriously though, you will be able to stick that boat into the corner a lot faster and a lot harder than any kneeler. I have experienced what it is like to go into the corner WOT in a laydown hull designed by Marc as well, at Constantine where speeds are around the low 90's, and I have to say it was my second lap in the boat. I have that much confidence in his boat. So go ahead and STICK IT IN there. hehehehehe.Dave Mason
