you know i could put a new boat on the water with out our signature flames i might even bring back the feather stripe flames if i have time it took me eight hours straight to stripe those flames .if you look close you can see how many little lines there are ,oh what the h%#* am i thinkin' that takes to long but i will have to do something cool !
The wife said I had to leave some of the wood showing this time so this is what I came up with. I want it bright enough so folks can see me leave them in the dust or know that I am coming. like that is ever going to happen.
I do have one question. If I run the steering cables strait off the pulley at the steering wheel they want to go under the deck. How much of an angle can you run off the drum and does any body make a pulley set up for such a problem.

If you click on the link at the top of the Hydroracer.net page on the Portage Bay Systems link you'll find this:
1225, Coaming pulley, 15 degree base angle (two pulleys shown), directs steering from drum through cockpit side and back to steering bar, cast aluminum, black powder coat satin finish, sanded accent highlight, 1 5/8" Delrin Acetel sheave, mounting template included, stainless steel screws and finish washers included, $19.95 each. 122 Coaming pulley with 90 degree base is similar.
In my experience 15 degree's will but you ROUGHLY at the center of the hub coming out the side.

Run the cables inside the boat back a ways, and then exit out the combings. I did this on my Dads 750CCMH as I had the same issue, did not think about the flat dash for laying down and the exit for the cable naturally wanted to come out under. Without tearing up the deck you are limited in choice. Unless you can fish a wire through the ribs and guess at line up and the point of exit from the deck...
I found some very sturdy pullies that swivel. I mounted them on a stiff piece of aluminum and them bolted this alum. to the cockpit side. It hold real well. I then ran some plastic like tubing back attached to the combings and exited it out about midship. I drilled a serious angle through the side and let the plastic tube exit out slightly. It works great. If I can find some pics I will email them to you. The boat is buried in storage right now.
Great pic. I bet you and Mikey had a heck of a time getting it out of the living room!
Matt
getting it up the stairs is the hard part!
Bill
PS at least I did not have to build it in the living room. I have however done some emergency boat repairs in the living room when it was too cold outside for the WEST to cure.
