I am very saddened to hear this news this afternoon, Steve took me under his wing when it cam to being a race director, these concepts I have used ever since then. I am saddened that I did not find the time to tell him so.
My thoughts and prayers are with you,

It is with a heavy heart that I post this message. My father & I have known Steve for over 30 years. We enjoyed racing against him, & watching him race against others.I especialy enjoyed our times together after the races,& at the national meetings.I will really miss his contagious laughter at the bar or meeting or around the campfire.Steve was one of the best! He will be greatly missed by all who had the great pleasure of knowing him.Our deepest sympathy to the entire Warnock family, and all his friends. The Webster racing team

              Rest in peace

The word of Steve's death was passed around the pits at the winternationals....and somehow being at a boat race when you get news like this makes it even harder. Steve.....rest in peace...rest in peace. David Anderson

                  It's gonna feel empty

We've been going to BSOA races since 1987, watched his kids grow up and we exchange Christmas cards and novels with Darlene. They are a really nice part of our extended boat racer family. I'm not very good with change and not having Steve's presence, his hand on the throttle so to speak, at the races is gonna be a tough change to deal with. I think a lot of people are going to be shocked at what it takes to fill his shoes. RIP Steve

                      Darlene and Family:
Julie and I were in Wisconsin this last weekend to visit her 100 year old dad. When we got home we were very shocked and sad to here of Steve's passing. We always enjoyed being with you at the boat races. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you at this tough time.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Warnock family. In my 15 years of BSOA racing I
did not know anyone who did more day after day for the sport of boat racing in region 7.
When I became the commodore of BSOA he helped and guided me when ever I asked and
even when I didn't. My brother and I purchased a antique Aristocraft from Steve and his
father twenty years ago. We will always have this boat in our family and will be a great
reminder of a wonderful man. God bless. Jim Petersen

                          Steve Warnock

Steve was one of those guys who could be counted on to do just about everything. He was a great boat racer and a great human being. He was part of the foundation for Region 7 Stock Outboard Racing for a very long time. I agree with one of the previous comments that it is going to be very, very difficult for our Region to do all of the behind-the-scenes things necessary for boat racing, without him.

Darlene, Rachel and Mike: I am very sorry for your loss. My family is thinking of yours. May God grant you comfort at this difficult time and may He receive Steve to be with Him.

                          Love,
Ed, Kelly, Isabella, Kori and Ava.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the entire Warnock family. As we drove through WI last Friday Becky and I talked about where our different friends lived in the state, the Warnocks were definately on that list.

Thinking of all of you in this hard time. Rest in peace Steve.

                              Sad

It is a sad time in boat racing. Steve was and will always be one of the good guys. When I came to Burlington WI for the first time to race, it was his family that greeted us at the gate and made us feel welcome.

Rachel and Mike, I am very sorry for your loss. And I know you are very proud of your Dad and all he has done.

                              Rest in Peace.

If you ever get to be around a guy like Warby once in your life, you should feel very lucky. I was lucky enough to spend time with Steve off and on for almost 40 years. We both started racing around the same time.
I don't ever think there was a time or a place he didn't have a story to tell, a smile or laugh or the one liners he had hid away. Both Miriam and I am going to miss him lots.
I have a strange feeling that he's talking to Daddy Warbucks right now and filling him in on whats been going on. Not like he doesn't already know

Darlene, Rachel, Mike, Thanks for sharing him with us.
