      125 speeds

Brandon is right. High 70's for 125 hydro, high 60's for the runabout. Of course this is with the 2 man hydro, right Brandon. With one man in the boat add 5mph.

        125 Hydro

After watching the race at Depue over the Memorial day weekend, I would say it will take 81 or 82 mph to run with Tim Small's new Rossi 125.

Ok few beginner type questions... bear with me...

          1. So how does the USTS day of racing work? I couldn't find it on the website. For the Iverness sanction for some classes it says "(2 heats)" others it says nothing. They get one unless elims? or are they getting more than 2? 4 laps usually? How many heats is a driver guaranteed in 125H/R?

          2. Also it said prize payouts as per USTS rules... I couldn't find any rules on the USTS webpage. The equipment rules are the same as APBA rules?

          3. If there is bad weather on Saturday do they try and run those classes on Sunday or are they out of luck? Testing on Friday, do I need to be there Friday to register? Or can I show up at 12am Friday night?

          4. Do the majority of the people in USTS 125 follow the USTS events or race where ever they can?

          5. Can some list typical places the 125's race in PA, NY, OH, MI, IN, etc... outside of the USTS. Many of the sanctions are not view able yet.

          6. LeMans start... you guys/gals only do this when it's a UIM championship race?

          7. Pit crew... should I have some traveling with me (obivously a good idea for safety in case I got hurt, but aside from that) to start the motor or is it like Stocks where everyone lends a hand where needed.

1). All classes run 3 heats unless otherwise indicated. Except for KPH we run 4 laps. If you have eliminations you are guaranteed 2 heats and 3 if you make it to the finals.
125H usually has eliminations or 12 boats....125R does not eliminations...yet.
We start at 1200 on both days. You will have test time all day Friday and Saturday and Sunday in the mornings from 1000-1200.

            2) You must be a member of the USTS to receive prize money. We have a pay out scale based on the number of entries and the $$ we have in the pot. It does differ from race to race. We always give out medallions as well. The copy is not on the web page. I will be happy to share it with you.

            3) If we get blown out on Saturday we will try to go to 2 heat racing and get it all in on Sunday. We will try and wait as long as possible to get the race going in the event of bad weather.

            4) Registration is open on Saturday you have to be registered to test and yes you can show up on Sat night. There is no Sunday registration and I would not advise asking!

5)125H will be on the schedule in Lochaven PA Labor Day weekend( an Augustine will correct me if I am wrong). Someone else will have to chime in on other races.

            6). Clock start.

7). Pit by us and we are happy to help as well as anyone else in the pits. I bring extra teenagers whenever possible because I am getting old and they LOVE to help everyone.
We are a receptive bunch and love to help anyone new.

Hopefully I have answered most of your questions...if not fire away!

The biggest controversy at our races is Miller Lite vs. Bud Light!!! If you drink Bud Light and pit by us BRING YOUR OWN! We are on the Miller side!

If I bring Canadian beer I'll have lots of pit helpers right?

                  Thanks Kristi! One clarification...?
"4) Registration is open on Saturday you have to be registered to test and yes you can show up on Sat night. There is no Sunday registration and I would not advise asking!"

You mean I can show up on "Friday" night? If I show up Sat night and there is no registration Sun morning I'm toast right?

                  One more qquestion too:
"1). All classes run 3 heats unless otherwise indicated. "

If there are no elims... how does the 3 heat format work?

Your right I meant you can show up Friday night. Yes, you are toast if you show up Sat night.

We run 2 flights each day each flight has 3 heats for example:

                    Sat
                    250R
                    KPH (2 heats)
                    350H
                    _____

                    500R
                    125R
                    500H

We would go through each set 3X, if there is a 2 heat class than the last time through the flight that class drops out.

You will still get help if you bring Canadian beer!!! especially if we happen to run out!!

                      Arriving Late

We could probably tolerate this with forewarning that you are going to be late. Send the entry in early and let us know when you are going to arrive. After-all, $35 is $35!!

so you just total the points from the 3 heats and whoever has the most wins? Or you take you two best heats? Or is it done on time?

I've never had a miller... so I guess I'm in the Bud camp for now... Don't hate me Tell ya what... both sides can leave a few of each in my pit and I'll sample them... may take a few races of samples but eventually, given enough time and samples I'll pick a winner. lol

Whoever has the most points at the end of three heats is the winner. If there is a tie in points, it then goes on time that is kept each heat.
If there is eliminations, points decide who makes it to the final 3rd heat.

                              Questions

                              Andrew
The reason we have no Sunday registration is most of our members race on both days, so they would have registered by the time the races start on Saturday.

If someone came in on Sat night to race on Sunday, they would be able to register. But even then a early mail in registration would be helpful.

Our Chief Scorer does huge amounts of work and a lot of it cannot be done while she is open for registration. She really appreciates it when our drivers get their registrations done right after they arrive.
