A few questions for Inverness regulars...........

Will there be "camping" for RVs at the park for the race?
If so, are there any hookups (not necessary but nice)? Do I need to call someone to reserve a place?
If not, can you tell me if there are nearby areas where we can camp?
Names, phone numbers, Email addresses, etc. that I might need would be appreciated.
First-timer at Inverness thanks you in advance for your help,
    Pat Augustine

There is a camping area without hookups. You do not need to reserve a spot however there is a $10 per night fee I just learned about, which is why it is not on the circular, so please accept my apologies.

        Lemme see here . . .

$74/nite at the Hampton and be in a closed room, $10 bucks to park an RV and enjoy the usual campground antics of fellow boat racers. A no brainer. If anyone gripes, Kristi, just whack them upside the head witha greasy shim stick :-)

First USTS Race of the Season

Everything appears to be coming together nicely for this first race of the USTS season. The town is clearly fired-up and we expect good crowds each day. The weather forecast looks great with temp's in the 80's. The safety boat and equipment trailer should already be there (I passed it on I-75 last Monday!!). And we expect a very strong turnout of boats from the east coast and the mid-west. We should have solid fields in all the hydro classes with big expectations for the capsule classes. Were are also hopeful for a good turnout of runabouts. The K PRO drivers have pulled together a good field of entries.

So, please come attend whether as a spectator or racer!!

                        USTS Race #1 2006

A good night's sleep, 8 hours of work and it is off to the races. Cannot wait to smell methanol/castor burning again. The smell of Spring in Florida. The weather looks perfect, everyone should come and play. There is not a PRO rig in the country that could not leave on Thursday and not make it to this race (may need more than 1 driver for the tow vehicle).

As an added bonus, you can run whatever engine manufacturer that you desire!! And nobody will leave or scratch or whatever. Also, this not a record course. Plus, if you do not register by Saturday morning, you will not be scored. No excpetions. Very straight forward racing. Come and enjoy fine racing and good cameraderie!!

Why no registration on Sunday? OSY only is a Sunday event?

                            Please advise.

                              Registrations

I do not believe that registration is going to be open Sunday morning. So OSY400 drivers need to make it over on Friday or Saturday. If this a problem, a driver needs to let the race officials know asap.

                                Updated Schedule for 2006

Unfortunately, we have had to make some additional adjustments to our schedule. In addition to the Omaha race being moved to DePue for Memorial Day weekend, the City of Hammond has asked the USTS to move the date from the original schedule of July 21-23.

So, the weekend of July 21-23 will find the USTS racing at Constantine and we will have our traditional Constantine then the Nationals speed week. I believe that this will be 50th year of PRO outboard racing at Constantine, quite a milestone!!

Very tentatively, we are considering moving Hammond into the August date originally held for Constantine. Finally, the September race for Haines City, FL will not occur in 2006. We are hopeful that this new race will come to fruition in 2007.

                                Revised Schedule as Follows:

March 31-April 2 Inverness, FL DONE
                                May 26-28 Depue, IL
                                June 23-25 Depue, IL
                                July 21-23 Constantine, MI
                                July 26-30 Depue, IL (Nationals)
                                August 18-20 Hammond, IN Tentative

                                October 6-8 Raleigh, NC
