Yellow Revolution Hydro
Tony,
Rex Hall has owned that Revolution laydown racing hull for two seasons now, if the boat in the pictures is the same hull I saw at Depue last year. Kurt Hellsten drove a yellow Revolution hydro in 250ccH for Rex at Depue last year, and I think Dan Kirts drove that same hydro (at least once in testing) for Rex (before the Constantine race?) last year. I assume that the 350cc GRM powerhead used was one of Rossi's own special setups. The fact that the hull (looking at those after-action pictures) totally delaminated at the primary top and bottom hull join seam is quite disturbing to me. The seam appears to lack a contoured-shape "locking feature" and/or a type of backing frame to anchor to in the vulnerable surface joint shear areas (I am not a mechanical engineer, so I'm sure there are better ways to reinforce or explain the reinforcement of that seam.)

Guiseppe was fine after the wreck, but he was not very happy. The two rescue boats in Amy's picture carried the remains from the turn all the way to the pits together. Half tied to each boat, and each half still somewhat connected._____________________________________________

What's up with these boat's. The tunnel's keep coming apart and now the hydro's. I have been at a few race's when the right pad of a 120 has just blown out. Also, I have seen deck seperation. I think it's time something is done about this problem.
APBA. What are we going to do about this PROBLEM.

Race Results, Congratulations, & After Thoughts
Thank you Susan for the complete race results report by class from Lake Alfred. I am looking forward to seeing some action photos of the races (especially the F-350 and 125ccH heats.)
Congratulations to all who won UIM/APBA World titles and an APBA 125ccH North American Championship title. Congrats also to those who placed and those who finished all three or four of the UIM regulation heats in each class. Speed and consistency in an endurance style of racing always win. It is really good to see Chris up there really close to the podium -- maybe next time the US will earn a podium spot.
I noticed fewer Italian, Swedish, and German team entries than in the F-250 World's Cup two years ago. The effects of the world-wide recession and the increasing costs of attending and participating in boat races held at distant locations from one's home country appear to have created a smaller turn out from "across the pond" for this event. It was good to see more US entries.
I like running a clock start heat, but I also like the idea of sequenced warm-up period and quiet time periods before starting a heat (like UIM does in a LeMans-style start) -- then you have more confirmation that a PRO motor will or will not start before the heat, and hence maybe no need for a longer, 4-minute gun during APBA PRO class races.
Cheers,

Correction
Travis Ellison placed 3rd in 125R not Kevin Ellison. Kevin's head is still swollen from winning 125H at the Nationals and he has never been in a runabout

As far as time goes as long as there are no accident or weather delays the USTS always finishes before 5 oclock. We in the titleseries limit the amount of classes but give threee heats. If ya want to run two days you will more than likely have another rig or at least change engines. See my post on the worlds lake alfred blog and find some of the pro's and con's of starts
