Rex Hall has owned that Revolution laydown racing hull for two seasons now, if the boat in the pictures is the same hull I saw at Depue last year. Kurt Hellsten drove a yellow Revolution hydro in 250ccH for Rex at Depue last year, and I think Dan Kirts drove that same hydro (at least once in testing) for Rex (before the Constantine race?) last year. I assume that the 350cc GRM powerhead used was one of Rossi's own special setups. The fact that the hull (looking at those after-action pictures) totally delaminated at the primary top and bottom hull join seam is quite disturbing to me. The seam appears to lack a contoured-shape "locking feature" and/or a type of backing frame to anchor to in the vulnerable surface joint shear areas (I am not a mechanical engineer, so I'm sure there are better ways to reinforce or explain the reinforcement of that seam.)

Al, you are correct in that the boat has only been in the water three times. Dan tested it at Constantine, Kurt ran two heats at Depue and Rossi was going to race it. I guess the good thing for me is that I was originally going to run it but we spent so much time with 1100 that we decided to let him drive since he is more familiar with style of boat and jetty starts. He was testing on Saturday and only went two laps. He said that as he entered the turn he felt the boat twist and suddenly the top deck was gone. This damage was not done due to an accident but the accident was due to the boat coming apart. The whole top deck with engine and everything was sitting on the bottom of the lake. It took about 20 minutes for the divers to find it and bring it back up. As you can see in the pictures it was brought to shore in many pieces. This boat was not constructed properly. If the boat came apart due to an accident that is one thing, but to basicly explode while you are running should never happen. Lets just say that there is one racing team not happy with what happened in Florida. We are just happy that Rossi was not hurt and was able to still race in o-175.

Like to say thanks to Jerry Davids for a great built boat and getting it done so Paulie could run at the worlds this weekend. If you saw the blow over of Paulie the boat had no damage done to it and a great job Uncle Mitch did to be able to get him back out for the last heat on Sunday. Also thanks to Jerry for doing that great dive off his boat to check on Paulie, thats what racing albout.
For all you's that were at the worlds you saw what a well oiled group of Tittle Series officals we have. Just to name a few Ray Rodda, Todd Brinkman, Sue Sailor, Mark Wheeler and all of the young ladies that worked the judges. Flagman Jake Quesse.
Ed Runne inspector, and Fred Mason on the resuce boat and David Weaver our starter.
Well it time to get the trailers clean out and get motors and boats looked at and just relax for a few months.
